Your payments actually are the same no matter what the cost of your truck is. For instance I was going to get a truck that was $47k, payments would have been the same but the balloon payment at the end would have been $9k. The truck I did get is $40k, payments are the same but now my balloon payment is $5k.

Hi Gravdigr, you said truck payment was $340.00 per month, is that correct or is it per week? Good thread, keep us posted and ignore the negative nancys, I think anyone can do whatever they put their mind to. Good job and best of luck
-
GRAVDIGR, get me your name and truck # as well...can you spell "referral bonus"?
-
Hi, gravdigr I've enjoyed your post so far and all the information you've been providing about the l/p. keep up the good work and keep us informed.
-
sorry, that is per week. would take about 15 years to pay it off monthly like that.
-
Gravdigr not a bad price at that had 2010 cascadia and did not have many issues hope your truck works out and wish you all success as l/p

I'm interested in the monthly gross amount that a driver can make there. Would you consider buying your own trailer to eliminate that monthly rental payment? I've read mixed reviews from owners who say if you own your truck and trailer the agents will not be as quick to offer you a load and they give preferential treatment to drivers who lease both truck and trailer. Have you heard anything like this? -
No, I haven't. In my orientation 3 of the 5 of us were o/o's, though the one o/o got the boot, couldn't pass his logbook test
(I got 100% on mine
). One guy I keep in contact with is driving for an owner who's whole fleet is leased on, 15 trucks I think with their own trailers.
Anyway, yeah when I can I'd rather be paying that $185/week trailer lease payment on a purchase of my own trailer...but the lease does cover trailer maintenance. Friday they spect $450 repairing 2 trailer tired that got screws in them, probably from the shippers nasty yard, and a cracked airbag we found when repairing the tires. The crack was all the way at the bottom of the airbag and we would never have seen it if the garage wasn't higher level than outside where the tractor was. All the trailer weight was on the front axle so the rear axle was dropped down low.Travelinman Thanks this. -
I read on another crst post they don't offer direct deposit. Is that true gravdigr ?
-
No, it's not true. I signed up for direct deposit. There is one issue with it. Basically they put your pay on comdata, then take it right back out and transfer it to your bank account. Our pay is on friday but the transfer may not register until monday I was told. It takes about 2 weeks for direct deposit to work so I'll know more in a couple weeks.
