even though i wasn't there, i believe it is a cut & dry case of an idiot driving like it's a nascar race in a parking lot. if he would have been going SLOW this could have been prevented; pure stupidity here.

    no arrest?

You have never had someone just walk out from in front of another truck without pausing to look to see if it was safe ?

it's happened to me several times which is why when i get in a parking lot, no matter if it's a truckstop, rest area, shipper/receiver, wal mart, etc & has happened to me, driving in GRANNY GEAR & let it go @ idle speed to where i want to go PREVENTED me from running over them cause i was able to react in time. this is a pure case of negligence & stupidity no matter how u look @ it

A truck stop (especially a chain like Love's, Pilot, T/A) is a busy place. Everybody who is moving whether on foot or behind the wheel has to take extra caution and scan everywhere. This stuff doesn't happen often but once is too much. SLOW DOWN. Watch everything around you. Put down the phone. This goes the same if you're walking from or to your truck. It takes one second of inattention to cause an accident. Remember it's not just you or that individual, but a parent, a child, a sibling, a friend or whatever is missing their loved one because something else was more important. Guess what? It's not that important. Be safe.

the SMITH SYSTEM has a couple of keys in there that if u actually followed them they would work, also common sense has to be used while following the keys; 1 of them is GET THE BIG PICTURE aka know ur surroundings & expect the unexpected.

had a driver ran over a little girl in the spring @ the petro in okc, he was alert, said he was aware of his surroundings but, was driving like he was driving on the highway, now he's paying for it
