Please tell me this is not true. I have been laid-off way longer than this from a job that I held for 6 years. I already submitted an app and was hoping to get approved. ####.

I called and spoke to a recruiter and she was absolutely zero help and very cold. I felt like I was dealing with a counter person at the DMV. She said they couldn't help at this time and didn't give me a reason. I then asked why. She replied because they have more qualified candidates at this time. Looks like my unemployment of 2 years was the problem. Sigh.

Sadly, it is a problem. Best advice is to create your own home business -- maybe an online business and file taxes, even if you don't make money, the IRS still counts it as "working", at least on a tax return. If you start this business, make sure you get some kind of business insurance. I've been self employed for the past several years and my tax returns didn't get it. They -- Prime -- wanted proof in the way of some kind of busness insurance. Fortunately, in my line of work, I had Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance and could prove that.

On the other hand, there could be other companies that will train you and overlook the unemplyment factor. I'm not sure who they are, but perhaps CR England, CRST, Swift, etc. I've heard they are the bottom feeders, but once you get that all important first year in hand, the world can be your oyster. Maybe.

It's their policy regardless, but I think its lame. I have a steady employment history prior to be being laid-off. I was at my last job for 6 years but it didn't matter. I also have a degree.

If I would have been working at McDonald's the last 3 years then I would have qualified for their program. They want work history in the last 3 years, nothing else matters. Yes, I am bitter :biggrin_2553:

Traveler, I really wanted to drive and see a little of the US, but I am going to weigh my options and might have to look for other work.

Like I said, maybe other companies will hire you. CRST, CR England, maybe Swift... don't know about them because Prime was my best bet.
    Don't give up.
