I know that a lot of soldiers try to pinch every cent they can. During sick call I overheard a group of soldiers from the local WTU explaining to each other the best ways of getting the most out of their separation. I have no idea what ranks, as they were all in PT uniform, but it makes me sick to my stomach. These units become a university teaching each other how to cheat the system. I know that there are a lot of Soldiers out there that deserve a little extra on the side to help with their situation, but there are also Soldiers out there that just want to claim your story so they can pocket a little cash. I have a feeling in the future that they will be reviewing cases as part of the budget cuts. As we all know sometime around 2038 out whole defense budget will be consumed because of things like this.

Well, "at will" is know as the right to work, which does not protect any employer or potential employer from discriminating against persons with a disability. What you stated has no bearing on a disabled person being denied work due to a disability.

To provide further documentation on this here is the link on the current federal regulations.

    http://www.eeoc.gov/eeoc/publications/ada_veterans.cfm

If a individual applies for employment the laws of the parent company applies to any act of discrimination.

Nebraska is very proactive in hiring assistance, Hiring Our Heroes is one such proactive stance they have taken.

Just because you don't know something, does NOT mean you are stupid.

    You and thousands of others.

PTSD had not been diagnosed back then. They were called "shell shocked," and were pretty much left to fend for themselves. The really bad ones, were institutionalized, up until the ACLU convinced the system that folks in the asylums should be put out on the street to survive, or not.

At will and right to work are NOT the same. NOT even close. Don't believe me? Come over to Utah, be a non Mormon, and see how the world works over here. At will means at the will of the employer. They don't have to have a reason to not hire you, or to fire you if you are already hired. Now being a vet, or being disabled MIGHT have some bearing on it, but don't count on it.

Your DD21114 says nothing about anything the VA knows. I have PTSD, took 6 yrs to get 100%. Go to the VA and get unemployable added to your rating and they will give you 100%. I don't know if the VA will release your files to a prospective employer or not but you can easily find out. Go to Schneider and don't give up.

In the front yard of a funeral home: Drive carefully. We'll wait.

Correct, on our dd214 it says stuff especially in the long form which is what everyone wants. Line 28 mine says disability severance pay so hiddingn that seems impossible. And we have to say we served or we have no work history where I'm going to say I was for the last 9yrs.
