Thank you man and yes God is greatly needed for those starting out,you got the Insurance companies, then D.O.T and the Carriers to deal with and it's not getting any easier. so many laws and regulations,The funny part is they need us and without us America would stand still but,yet they make it harder for us and anyone new they make almost impossible to get into,it all comes down to money.we as truck drivers put up with a lot being treated as a 3rd class citizen .

No 1yr is all you need but the catch is you need to have a job lined up so you don't have any gaps in employment and I did say have your job in hand before quitting.

This can be a very dirty cut throat job but,if you get the right job it can be rewarding too I been on both sides of the fence, there are evil people out there in this world they care only about themselves and we as truckers come in contact with evils ugly face.

I'm very content with my job as a trucker. I'm new to the industry, over 3 yrs now, after 30 years in the construction business.

I drove long haul for three years, paid my dues, kept my nose clean and went to work for company near where I live and drive regionally now.

I'm home every weekend, make decent money, have good benefits which include health ins, 6 holiday pays, vacation pay, 80 hrs a year of sick leave, cell phone allowance, etc.

My dm is great, my boss really cares about his employees, provides newer equipment which is maintained and I never sit waiting for a dispatch.

I have to say overall, my job is easy as stealing candy from a baby.
