Still looking around before I make a serious decision abut who to start for. Right now I am leaning toward SNI but got some limited info from WSE in the mail. The recruiter was more interested in my SSI# then telling me about his company when I called last week. Great way to start a conversation. Really just want to hear from you all and find out if they run loads in the DFW, TX or OKC area . This would be in my backyard. Are you dispatched from home or a terminal. Other details if any I should be aware of (forced dispatch, etc).
Later today I gave a look at the Tranport America webpage. heaven't heard much but the fact that they have a terminal nearby, will train for some servitude time but it was not clear how long. Pay from .29 to .33/mile 1st year. I saw a guaranteed hometime at Christmas if requested policy and 24/7 roadside assistance. This really made me laugh so I have to ask if anyone that has worked for them or perhaps still work for them utilized this and actually got it? I would think this is something that must be planned well in advance. What is the avg length of haul for both TA and WSE? (I think i'm asking the question the right way)
BTW if you happen to know of anyone working for USA TRUCK throw in your two cents as well. Met a guy working for them and he said good luck getting home. He spends a lot of time in Laredo waiting for loads but besides that he likes the pay when he's not waiting and loves the International he drives governed at 62 mph

Just a note, I am looking to get back on the road. At the end of my list i was back at WSE for the warm and fuzzy fit. That got me thinking about the sister company, MCT. They basically are the same thing as WSE except 100% Owner/Op. What apparently happened is they now have entire smaller companies that have partnered with them. So, in other words, they can set you up with a small company with a few trucks looking for more, up to medium size companies of 50-100 trucks. I have been researching one of these companies, Wood out of Ohio. They have about 70 trucks. So to drive for them, you would be driving for Wood, under MCT loads and brokering, and payed by Comcar the parent company (Just like WSE was). In the end, this means all the polices I love from WSE are the same at MCT, but the pay package is MUCH better. It looks like I may make up to 30-40% more at MCT if I go with them. They pay for Detention and Layover 100% also and give an achievable multiplying millage bonus. You also have Non-Forced dispatch and have 3-4 loads to pick from yourself. Insurance coverage after 60 days (Blue Cross Blue Shield). Equipment is about on par with WSE. Mainly Frightliners with some Volvo's. Lots of autoshifts if one likes that sort of thing.
Just dropping you what I have been up too. Just food for thought. Everything I like about WSE and Comcar, but with much better pay. -
