my husband and i drove for msj trucking in opp alabama for over a year and a half.last december we took a run to north carolina.we had a four wheeler come up on our blind side and we didn't see it,we hit the car.we were tied up with state trooper and dot for 2 hours.when they let us go,we went to the next exit and called the company.we reported the accident and asked where to go take drug screen.the safety director said not to worry about til we came in 2 days later and then he'd send us.well,we went home under a load for chritmas, that we were supposed to drop and grab a different load off the yard.the load couldn't be found,so we had to wait til monday when the office was open to get new load.that morning,we went ib.the safety guy said to the owner that we never reported the accident,so they terminated us.so whatever you do,never sign on with this company...............

Would that be the same safety person that told you not to worry about it until 2 days later?

yes,the same safety person.i brought it to the owners attention and they blew me off.but that company is beginning to get a bad name,so if that guy stays there, the company will soon understand why the drivers don't stay too long

i am sorry to hear about your experiance with MSJ out of opp. My daddy works for him and since becoming an owner operator he is getting the [crap] runs and barely any miles. and now the owner wants him to buy another truck. not like he isn't having enough problems with the one he has now. once again i am sorry about what happened to you. by the way i saw something about new orleans. is that where you live now or just running to? cuz i live 45 mins from new orleans. if you would ever like to talk my yahoo id is listed on my profile i think :biggrin_25517:

What really gets me is how this idiot in safety can pull this.He called my husband in the office, told me I had to stay outside, which was out of the norm, since I always went in with him.He did this because he knew I would go off and tell mr sorrells the truth, that it was larry smith that screwed up,not us.Well, that's alright, because where we are now,we like it better, plus where my hubby works now,he is a supervisor and we are home everyday.Msj sucks and that's not a lie!!!!!:biggrin_2557:

Buddy Moore trucking. very family oriented but not perfect.
you are a person a driver and treated like a family member.
You are not just a number.
If you treat them good - they will treat you good

MY HUSBAND WORKED FOR MSJ AND DID FOR 13 YEARS (WORKED THERE FOR 10 YEARS BEFORE, RETIRED, THEN WENT BACK). MR SORRELLS WAS DIFFICULT SOMETIMES BUT ALWAYS FAIR AND LOOKED OUT FOR HIS EMPLOYEES. HE HELPED US SEVERAL TIMES IN TIGHT SPOTS, AND ESPECIALLY WHEN MY HUSBAND WAS INJURED FROM A FALL. MOST COMPANIES COULD CARE LESS WHEN YOU ARE NOT MAKING THEM MONEY.
MSJ WAS A COMPANY THAT YOU GOT OUT OF, WHAT YOU PUT INTO YOUR JOB. **IF** YOU WANT ALOT OF MILES TRUCKING NOW, WITH ALL THE RULES AND REGULATIONS, YOU HAVE TO STAY OUT FOR WEEKS AT THE TIME. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE A GOOD CHECK COMING HOME EVERY WEEKEND. **THAT IS JUST A FACT OF TRUCKING THESE DAYS** I RIDE WITH MY HUSBAND AND I KNOW FIRST HAND HOW THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY WORKS. IT IS NOT LIKE IT WAS 10-20 YEARS AGO. MY DAD WAS A TRUCKER FOR 40 YEARS AND HE WORKED FOR 2 DIFFERENT MAJOR TRUCKING COMPANIES , YOU JUST CANNOT MAKE THE MONEY THAT THEY USED TO MAKE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT RUN LIKE U USED TO BE ABLE TO RUN. I RODE WITH DAD ALOT AND IT IS JUST NOT THE SAME.
BUDDY MOORE TRUCKING SEEMS TO BE A GOOD COMPANY. THEY HAVE MADE THE DISPATCH DEPARTMENT MORE EFFICIENT AT DISPATCHING LOADS AND THE DISPATCHERS PEN HAS WENT FROM 100 MPH TO ABOUT 65 MPH!:biggrin_25525: THIS HAVING ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES.

THE POST ON HEREE, ESPECIALLY THE ONE ABOUT THE ACCIDENT, DRUG TEST, ETC..WHY WOULD YOU EVEN HAVE TO ASK ABOUT A DRUG TEST. COMMON SENSE WOULD DICTATE GETTING ONE ASAP..TO COVER YOUR ###, JOB AND CDL. YOU SHOULD KNOW WHAT THE RULES ARE..

    defanimal414 Thanks this.
