    Yeah it should give you the state's Highway patrol or DOT phone number, then just tell them what scale house your going by and ask. I asked once like you suggested, last year, was told by FHP that if the weigh station is the only scale around and im overweight then i'll receive a citation. The officer suggested i take a back US highway north, no scales and there would be an agricultural scale near a farm on that road. All i could do was thank him.

    i'd like to see the racing dude drive down the highway to the dot scale to find out if he's heavy or not.

    only to run into a surprise inspection blitz.

    you need to have good axles BEFORE you run into law or dot.
