Loves Truck Stops are owned by Tom and Judy Love, or Musket Corp. They started with one truck stop in OK., great for them, and built the Loves we all know now. But, why can't they give a little back.

In August, 2011 Musket, who is owned by Loves, started construction on the facilities at Bakken Shale/Williston Basin in N.D. (Part of the area they most of us thought we would be able to make a little money off of, remember Minot), to ship up to 70,000 barrels of crude to OK, TX and the West Coast to be done by rail. They were so happy because their current employment at the facilities at the N.D. plant would increase from 20 employees up to 50 employees, WOW!

In November, 2011 we were ...
in Willis, N.D. fracing and this came to a fast halt in January, 2012 after we were told it was to be a year long job, uh, huh!

In the end, Loves is shipping its own oil to refineries , through the pipeline, not by truck, then charging Owner/Operators outrageous amounts for Diesel.

Drivers you can even take a stand, don't buy at Love's, they are screwing you, if o/o made more money you would get some of it!

As an O/O, Our Diesel is running 46%, lets boycott love's for awhile!

Thats why we pay $4+ a gallon for diesel at love's and he is listed as the 25th richest person in the U.S. on Forbes! I would take 3 days!

Good luck with all of that. That's the free market stuff I keep hearing is so great for the consumer and the workers. Yeah. Not so much.

I just want Truckers to be aware of what they are walking in to! My husband didn't know until I told him about Loves! He suggested I post it on here because he watches every dime he spends on diesel. He is driving our truck now. We have gone from a Million a year to him driving. So we know both sides. The difference is, we paid our drivers good and treated them with respect. THank you for replying and have a safe and happy day. God bless.

So what your saying is you want to boycott a company for finding a more effective way to ship their product other than using trucks?

Since when could using a truck and tank trailer compete with a pump and a pipe? That is why the pipelines exist, because they are considerably cheaper. I would be more apt to find fault with them or anyone else for not using the pipe, I fail to see any business logic in this. If you were promised something, how is it worded in your contract with them? Is there not a remedy for a broken contract?

If Love's is screwing OOs on price then every other place is too as they are totally competitive...I really don't understand the gripe...If you don't like their prices, don't stop there, that's as good as the free market, or any market, can get!...

Actually, Loves seems to be the ONLY chain out here that seems to give a crap about the driver!

That is not what this is about! It is about the way Love's has bought up the shale, caused all the truckers that were hauling frac sand to the gas wells to loose their jobs that they were counting on it. Remember there was suppose to be a huge boom in minot for years to come. Then Love's sends their oil to their refineries, sends refined oil to their stations and jacks the price up.

The refineries they are sending it to are in OK, Houston and the West Coast. Now they say gas and Diesel are high because of: Hurricane Ike in the Gulf, the drought and wild fires in OK, and Wild fires on the West Coast. Are we that ignorant?

Personally, I am concerned, if your not, your not. Thank you for your post! Love's is not the only on. But when the Trucks Stop so does are Nation!
