I have drove thru Wyoming many times with a 65 mph wind gusts warning display sign, blowing snow.Did'nt bother me.Just slow to the speed you feel most comfortable and you'll be alright.I drive thru the wind everyday empty and hauling swinging meat.Sometimes it can be unbareable but this female has to or find another line of work.

many companies will fire or suspend a driver..

however, if our original poster is an o/o, then all i can say is he isn't very good at it to not want to drive in "some breeze"..

another thing too, is that i see a lot of people are "liking" what i have said thus far..

i guess i have struck another nerve, maybe the last nerve on some people that simply cannot put up with drivers that cannot drive in many types of weather conditions.

i guess trucking schools are graduating "fair weather Mary's"

I guess the more experienced you are at driving in all types of adversed conditions the more the weather won't bother you. When it's really windy here it's just another day.I could care less.

I have never proclaimed to be a super trucker, but thanks for the compliment anyways. But because we didn't come on here and start pattin ya on the back and saying its ok you did the right thing does not mean you need to get all defensive. What did you think a bunch of internet super truckers would say?

as an o/o..how MUCH MORE will you be paying/using if you drive in the "little breeze"..??

you really sound like you just can't take the weather, and you wanna "justify" your reasons by saying the cost of fuel or how much you will burn up, but you provided NO PROOF of what you claim..!

(we both posted at the same time)..

    you sure it'll be $300...??

    got proof of that..???

you ain't gonna "piss away" that much in fuel..what are you driving a 1940's truck..???

every truck has some sort of wind deflection shape to it, and you will NOT be wasting that much fuel...

True mndriver,I don't pay for fuel but if I was an O/O I would not let the wind shut me down unless it was so bad semis are turned over in the ditch. You know the saying, you can't make any money if the wheels are'nt turing.Besides is'nt 40mph gust normal?

Nope, it wouldn't cost me $300 in fuel to go 90 miles.

    It is very apparent.

I shut down as well. It does make a difference.

The product I deliver, the company requires us to shut down at 35 mph winds.
