A free health clinic in your town will be able to do the test and get you on meds to manage it.
My neighbor went through local chapter of american diabetes association to find such a place.
I drive him from appointments some times.
dont give up man.....never give up.....exhaust all your resources, then ask for more, exhaust them and then start over....if you have diabetes there are plenty of resources out there since it is considered a disability.

I'm no doctor but it sounds like you might need the pills again to clear that up or try a low carb diet. The diet did the trick for me but pretty hard to stick with. Also some light exercise will help. Good luck
