Ok, I just re-read your original post. I stand corrected. I don't think it's discrimination though. Think about it, if both you and I apply at Prime or England, you have no work history, I have 2 years driving, who will they hire first? But believe me, I won't be applying at either company you mentioned though. These companies cry about a driver shortage, I highly doubt it, not with so many new people doing a career change. My suggestion to you is to keep trying. A door will open even with your lack of work history. And one other thing, I do commend you on raising your child. Husband or wife, it's a thankless underpaid job!

You kind of did way she didn't believe you at least it was implied..

The fact is you have no work history and won't find a job in this industry right now.. You asked people what they thought and said your wife thought you were being discrimnated against.. When the fact of the matter is the insurance company sets most hiring standards for the industry now..

While on the subject of new drivers please don't get into this industry because you believe it is a way to make a lot of money.. There isn't a lot in it anymore by the time you pay for living on the road and all that jazz you will avg about $8 to 12 per hour.. Best of luck..

It's simple...put down xyz lawn-care...reason for leaving-CLOSED. Buy a pre-paid phone and have a friend or relative pretend to be the former owner for them to call and verify.
As far as I'm concerned, 2 can play this stupid game

As others have said though, I wouldn't waste my time on the companies you mentioned

During my CDL training, the Covenant Trans recruiter stated something similar, but she said that if you can get three friends/people to write statements proving such statement as the one you mentioned and had them notarized then that would be sufficient for the case that some classmates had. I am sure that there are companies out there that would work with your situation.

    Hello,
Im new here and read your post. I was in the same situation. I was a "stay at home " mother for 17 years..I did work up until that time, tho.

I will be attending Roehl school next month, hopefully. They DO have a form that you fill out stating where and what youve been doing over the years, that you have 3 non family members sign. Its an AFFIDAVIT. Roehl then has it notarized. I had No problem with that part.

I hope this helps, at least a little. Roehl has a very good reputation for their school, trucks and how well they care about their people and their safety.

    Good luck to you

Some companies do offer this affidavit,, but most don't so a notary would be a good place to start.

There is no way for a company to document where you were and frankly, most will not take the time.. You might have very well been out of the country in a terrorist training camp for all they know. Welcome to the world of post 9/11 security measures. Not a totally bad thing..
