Experience with your LTL company

My day is more like 11pm start time and 11am end time. So most of the time we work long days in ltl.

 

And if your low on the board calling in every morning hoping you have a route or better yet a truck to drive when you get there.

I hated the LTL side.

 

12 years now at conway out of canada. City p+d, and mostly linehaul. Make great money, in my own bed every morning with weekends off.

 

That's about what mine is like, give or take.

 

Its 4:46pm and ive been home for 5 min. already!

 

I dont know 1 of our local drivers that works 12 hrs in a day cab including me! I have been on this run for 14 years and get home by 5pm. Its 4:48pm and i have been home for 15 min. already.

 

Yea, i hear you, I,m in appleton Wi. but my peddle area is Oshkosh Wi. which is 15 min. from the terminal. While most places where i P/U and del. have a 2nd & 3rd shift, shipping and rec. is usually done by 5pm when the poeple leave. So by 3:45 pm everything is on my wagon unless there is a truckload waiting to be picked up. By the time i get back to the yard, 2nd shift drivers are waiting for power units to use so usually the first tractors back leave again. By the way i'm originally from Metro N.Y. Brooklyn (sheepshead bay)
