Hello Drivers, I'm Pirate Trucker XOXX, I am asking for all the information I can get about the O J account, I've heard that it is based out of Atlanta, GA or Lakeland,FL. Which is it, Or is it both? Ive also been lead to believe this account has alot of miles and lots of freight, hopefully the answer to this question is BOTH. I'm training on the Home Depot account out of Lake Park, GA. I have just finished my 2nd week with my trainer, he doesn't have any info about the O J account. So if anyone who has the spec's on this account, I would really like to hear it. because the more info I have the better.:O_o_1PIRATES8:

Thanks in advance, Pirate Trucker XOXX

If u are referring to the guys running dedicated from Florida to California my trainer told me he has been on the waiting list for that run for a year. Seems the drivers on that route seem to hang on to it.

I'm don't think it's "dedicated" Sonja for Omaha told my that this account is a "slip seat" out of Atlanta, and my trainer said he thought it is or was out of Lakeland, Fl and it is kind of new and has a $2,000 dollar sign-on bonus. that's where I start to wonder whats true.

When they start offering bonus'es that means they have trouble keeping drivers in the seat for some reason. It may be cause of the slip seat, lots of guys don't like that but then again some do. You do know that if you slip seat you don't have a truck assigned to, you use whatever truck is available and they give you that day. Most slip seats are going to be home often possible dayly. thats all I got!

Thanks, Yes I know the different truck aspect, and how that could be difficult, but the miles are what Im after because of the low cents/mile that I must deal with being a new driver, do you know if this account is solo or team?

Well I no longer work for Werner and I have never heard of the O J account. If I had information on it I would gladly let you know what I could. I will let you know that you will not get much response on this forum from many people that have much good to say about Werner. The odds of somebody running that account and reading your post within one day and giving you a response is not likely either.

I will tell you this though, I would look for most any dedicated that you can find with Werner. While the pay is usually still low it is generally higher on a dedicated account. Also find out about stops, pay for stops, find out who unloads and if it is you how much it pays. I ran a dedicated account for Werner for 4 years and was home every day for most of that time and rarely grossed less than $1,000 per week.

Talk to as many people as you can find that will talk to you about all that there is to offer, ask lots of questions and try to weigh what will fit what you are looking for the most. Many times it really depends on the area you are in or are willing to relocate to be able to do well with Werner. You can do ok there or you can be another Werner sucks story here and a lot of that depends on you and how much effort you are willing to put in to it and how much crap you can take before it breaks you.

    Best of luck.

The so-called OJ account as you have labeled it is a new attempt that Werner is making for drivers living in Florida. They have two buses (not vans) that Werner owns to shuttle drivers from Florida back to Lithia Springs, GA and to their home in Florida on their home time when off. It is a slip-seat operation staying out 2 to 3 weeks at a time with 1 day off for each week. Your home time does not start until the bus gets you to your doorstep at home. But you get no pay or miles for the day riding the bus home and back. The bus has TV and food onboard for the ride home and back. Was told Lithia Springs has some lockers for these drivers to store their belongings during home time since they are slip-seating.

There is a $2,000 sign-on bonus. $1,000 is paid after 7-days of first load, and 2nd $1,000 30-days later. The pay is 33.5 cpm for all miles, and the loads are OTR East of I-35.

I was looking into it, but was not okay with the bus ride home and back forth due to losing two days of miles to take 3-days off.

hey pirate what state do you live in?
Do u like to just drive as an OTR or do you perfer getting out to unload your truck?
you u like to be home weekends or every 2-5 weeks?

as yourself that then give those answers to ur SDm and it there job to find what is best for you. I did OTR, dollar general and now im doing family dollar. OTR is good if u just like to drive but i like to get out and do other things as well. That y i do dedicated accounts that involves unloading. Dollar general was to much for me, im not build or strong enough (yea i admitted it) to constantly roll hundreds of pounds of rolltainers up inclines constanly but u might be. That y i do family dollar, im home every saturday and sunday and sometimes weekdays if i have to do stores near my home town. and the heaviest thing is like around 40 pounds but most average about 10-20lbs boxes.... but there plenty of other accounts where u can get a truck assign to u instead of slip seating. cause you dont know how the last person treated that truck the day before. but when it comes down to it. You have to find what best for you and benefits u the most. You can hit me up and we can talk and discuss more. since i have some free time the next few days.
