Well 1st week is done and in the books.. So far so good.. Im getting the hang of it slowly but surely. I know when im by myself i might have a blonde moment or two but ill know who to call if problems arise. this week more of the same except ill be doin more and just being supervised vs. watching and helping out or doing what i know before he steps in. Everybody has been really great and any ?s i ask i get answers. terminal is laid back and alot of funny guys and jokes, nothing new to me so i fit right in. after this week i think its off to morris, the hq, to do a 3 day orientation. I just hope i get a descent truck, Id really like one of those KWs.. Im keeping my fingers crossed! I heard new drivers have been getting newer trucks so i hope i do too, lol
Northbamatrucker its kool i know how it goes.. Yea i will be a system driver to but they will keep me close for a lil bit then set me loose. they said i can be home every week and stay out if i want. most of these columbus guys are home everyday or every couple days. alot of out and back stuff is what they told me. -
Logan yes we haul plastic pellets mostly.. some type of powder to, and i think im going to see a load of that this week. just so i know how it works and sounds!
trucker43 Thanks this. -
Yeah you are at a good terminal, been there several times and the showers are nice. Orientation was a good experience for me. Chuck is a great guy and he will show you the inns and outs of the company. He feeds you good too and you will even eat lunch with the owners of the company.

Thats great to hear! Im guessin some of the other terminals are not as nice!? Did you go up there after your 2 week training or lil bit later on?
-

Yeah all terminals are a little different. It was really busy when I started so I went like three months later.

quick update.... Well im on my own now and so far so good... I got an "old" truck of course, new guys before me lucked up and got brand new trucks. I got an 05 freightliner classic flat top, 13speed and more lil chicken lights than ya standard A&R truck, lol... goes 68-70mph. I actually kinda like it, after driving it a few days. its one of those re-built trucks that they did awhile back. Drives and handles better than i thought it would. Im stayin close for now just out and back freight home everyday. I will go system here in the near future. People have been really helpful and go out the way if i have questions or concerns. im doing pretty good i must say. Its all falling in line for me. thats bout it for now...
trucker43, Lonesome and whoopNride Thank this. -
Do they run E-logs over there at A&R?
