Thanks.
I love the old two lane roads. If time permitted I'd be happy staying on them. The speed life moves today doesn't tolerate them so well though.

Great read man! reminds me of times I'd end up on some "highways" in hills of WV and NC with only 6 months of experience. trailer tail rubbing against the mountain side. Trial by fire!!

I know that this is an old thread that has been revived but c'mon drivers. There is nothing about the route from KC to Jonesboro that should bother anyone. The traffic leaving KC on 71 is far worse than any of the roads. Hwy 63 in both MO and AR was improved about 10 yrs ago and the worst part that was in AR was widened and looks nothing like the old road.
Hwy 7 has been 4 lane since before I started in 95 and 13 was never that bad, but they took out all the stop lights except for in Clinton, and widened the 4lane section between Bolivar and Springfield.
The entire route is either 4 lane or wide 2 lane. -
BigJohn, good read. That 62 bypass thru Pocahontas is the correct way to go. I travel a lot on way back from memphis to joplin where I live. They even have a truck shop in Pocahontas.
BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
Anyone been on Highway 9 near MoutainView? I feel bad for any big truck on it! I drove it one time with a 53 walking floor just for the fun it it! I know the road so well sence I live on it!
