Tire size has nothing to do with wheelbase, but it will effect ride height and theoretical over all gear ratio.
Wheelbase is measured from the centerline of the front spindle on the steer axle, to the centerline of the rear axle.
Your bumper-to-bumper measurements are reffered to as 'LOA' or 'Length Over All'.vinijackson Thanks this. -
Actually "true" wheelbase is measured from the center of the steer to the center of the rear suspension not the rear axle. Just for informations sake.Superwav and vinijackson Thank this. -

Suppose I know I have 6" side walls and 24.5 tires, I know the outside diameter of the rear tire is even with the rear of the frame, and the outside diameter of the front tire is 6" from the end of the frame? Just to be in the ball park ......24.5 plus 12" side wall / 2 should put me in the center of each axel. So I subtract 18.25 (center of the rear axel) from 360 gives me 341.75. Then I do the same in the front and get 323.5. Subtract 6" from the outside diameter of the front tire to the front bumper and get 317.5. I will check by measuring it but thought that would put me in the ballpark.

center of steer to center of drive axle suspension. (in other words between the drive axles)
Superwav Thanks this. -
Superhauler and Haulhand are absolutely right!
I don't know why, but I was thinking your 359 was a single screw. That would be axle to axle.
You need centerline (center of the hubcap) of the steer axle, to the mid-point between the two rear axles.
Also, could you maybe throw up a couple af photos? -
Sure I can take some more... The truck in my avatar is the one I'm talking of.

You have a 359 Flat dash,Before the Dash of Class came about with a later model 379 Sleeper. The reason for the long wheelbase is it makes the truck ride better and once you get used to it there will be very few places you cant put it. Please keep pictures coming of your progress as I love 359's!!!
