How do you get rid of that? Damaged cases of what? Meat?
That must really suck...
Got my second p/up this morning, arrived at consignee 2 hrs earlier but as I suspected, they started unloading at appt. time. And they allowed me to stay in their premisses till 6:30 am tomorrow...This is great! Will drop this mpt company trailer and get a WalMart mpt trailer tomorrow morning and if WM doesn't ask me to do them a "favor" and run a store load for them, will rush to another shipper in OH...
Think I will cook some pasta here... I'm getting hungry.
Where are you

grass is always greener
what if he isn't driving a hood -
So... I am here, at the consignee, sitting in the truck, doing my paperwork, etc and this driver arrives and sets up for his backing at the dock. Lots of space, should be pretty easy but it took him many pull ups to get it right.... OK... None of my business...But I thought... it may be a rookie... Then, yard folks came and told him to unhook and pull up 6 feet. He tried, and tried and tried some more, back and forth, rocking the truck and nothing.... Couldn't unhook at all.
Other yard guys came to watch...And I thought... Just ignore it... But then, I couldn't resist and decided to go there and offer some help. I told driver, "drop your air bags." The driver couldn't understand English well...
He must be from some country in Europe... So, we had to communicate via hand signs. So, he dropped the air bags and I was able to pull the lever that holds the 5th wheel to the king pin but it would not stay out... . 5 yard guys just stood there, with their flash lights watching, as they don't touch drivers' equipment. So, I told driver to hold the lever out and I got in his truck and moved it. And Voila! Unhooked!
The yard guys seemed amazed and one said... that easy huh???
And thanked me... I must confess, I felt good about being able to help... Told them I have that problem sometimes, as I drop and hook almost everyday.
