the truck puts out plenty of power,(im sure but how big is the amp... wattage) and yeah, you should find someone who will tune it WITH the amp.

according to the manufactures web site it will pull about 34 amps so you need to make sure you use the appropriate gauge wire to hook it up and make sure you have a good alternater on the truck, i would suggest at least a 90 amp or better. The web site also says it will take 3-15 watt input so your cobra should be fine for a drive on this type amp as is. The problem with these type amps is no filtering what so ever so you are going to splatter all over the place and cause some serious cross band emissions on places you will not want to be. So remember using an amp on CB is illegal and one like this is going to draw allot of attention from people on other bands as you will be causing interference on bands you can't even monitor so when the guys send you a letter from Mr. Hollingsworth don't be surprised.

I believe you will find that the KL brand of amps will perform better & longer with a LOW dead key of 1.5 watts. You will also have less interference & the amp will last longer. I have never used one but, many operators I know have them & the trick for peak performance is the low dead key. You will probably need to have this done by a qualified technician.
