Okay Rick, why is the owner an A...? By all means, please say why and how. Or was it that the job was not what you wanted and might have been too much responsibility? I work there, so I know the players. Please tell me your tale of woe and let me judge that. My guess is that you won't. Try being in management sometime or having a bunch of drivers (I can say that because me truck driver). You can tell drivers "Do this, this and this" and they will do "That, that and this." Yes, that's true. However, right now, I have a truly good team here and they do a really great job.

Anyway, I ramble. I didn't intend to get onthese forums today and since I happened to see these postings, thought I'd answer them. Trojan Horse, Ltd. is not a bad company. It has a lot of good qualities and some peculiarities that come with hauling Mail. It is what it is. 1 driver in 10 will make it as a Mail Hauler. I have been doing this since 1985 and i know that number is sound. Mail hauling ain't freight hauling.

Of course there is. The virus is named after the original Trojan Horse attack done on Troy way back when. Same thing. However, the company was named this back in 1979 before such things existed. I also know that people say things like that all the time. Or ask about condoms, as they don't know ANYTHING about history, being that all they do is watch American Idol.

Anyway, Trojan Horse, Ltd. is a legitimate company. If someone has questions, ask away. IF you want to run your mouth ans say stuff, back it up. I am waiting to hear names, etc.

Sturmkatze, yes we all know about ancient Troy. If you want to defend your company, by all means do so. But do it with positive accounts of your experiences, not by calling people history class skipping, American Idol watching idiots.

Well, it's more that disgruntled former employees always irritate me. Hell, I've been one. In this case, like I have said in a couple of posts: only 1 in 10 drivers will make it as a mail hauler. My most recent one who didn't could not follow simple instructions to take the lease truck to the shop to be checked. How hard is that? He tells me "I didn't see the need." He started in October and quit in April because I asked him why he didn't follow directions. I had another who ALWAYS complained about the computers -- he hated that he had to run legal. He actually thought this was a bad thing!?!

I am kind of biased, so my "positive" experiences may vary, especially since I am a supervisor. We do have some areas where drivers seem to do what they want. It's why I asked "WHO" told the one guy to drive illegally. Name names!

However it all is, I will say that MY AREA has some of the most awesome drivers. In fact, we have a lot of good ones in the whole fleet, but we are growing and when you grow, you have to hire new people. Sometimes it's hard to bring them in and teach them our "culture." Little things that are important to what we do, seem "dumb" to new guys and they have to be taught it's not that way. "Attention to detail" I say that a lot... it's true. Like learning the computer -- it's not going away. I had one guy who just kept saying "If we'd only get rid of that $@!@#$% computer..." Ain't gonna happen. It helps us, it helps the drivers. Anyway, this is not a bad company -- I think that's what I'd like to say. You may not like how we do things. You may think that when you first come to work here, you'll get the good runs and the senior guys (who have worked here for YEARS) will take the less than perfect runs... really, do you think that? Who thinks like that? Okay, I should stop, because I have had a few that DO think that way. That they will come into a company and they'll be the big dog. Kind of like what is happening in our culture today, wherein we have all these people who feel that they are entitled and should make $85k a year to start. What happened to earning your way up the ladder?

Do I have the answers for why some of these guys had a bad experience? No, I don't. In some cases, plainly it was BAD LEADERSHIP at their terminal, but not always. Sometimes they were just not going to fit in. I could tell you all kinds of stories about people that seem to WANT to leave the job. Sad.

    How's that sevenmph?

Why thank you. Nah, I'd love to respond, but I was ordered not to. I will say this, I make no excuse for any of that, I only got on here to answer untruths. My area runs just fine. I worked for Mitch Gunther. Mike too. I was in Northern Virginia. Imagine that. Don't be throwing your hate at me for other's actions.
