Thanks Steve, my wife has been telling me to stay home this coming week. I'm trying to make her understand just how important those plastic cups from Greenville to Mountain Top are....lol

 

Starting pay is .36 p/m. With probably the best home time for OTR I've ever seen.

 

Got all my pre-plans for next week. I load in Jacksonville Monday at 1pm for Florence SC on Tuesday. Then dead head to Greenville for a drop and hook Tuesday morning for a load going to Mountain Top PA to drop and hook Tuesday night. Then my run back south. Weather depending.

 

That's the starting pay. Me? Leave Monday mornings and back home Thursday evening. 2750 miles per week, extra stop pay, same 5 customers every week. I get to sleep in my bed at the house more than in my truck every week since I started this dedicated run 4 months ago. A lot of work? I agree, bumping the same 5 docks every week is very tiring.

Now, based on your 24 years OTR, and 1 post, I will agree with you, It makes Me very happy, for the simple fact that, I don't need to make 100K a year. The combined income in my household between the wife and I is in excess of 175K a year, I sold a very lucrative car lot that I owned for 11 years, 4 years ago that set me up financially for the rest of my life. This allows me to do what I love and have done for 31+ years. And now I am counting the days to retirement at 60.

I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm coming across as defensive, but I guess I am. If you took the time to read all my post's since I started this thread 3.5 years ago you will see exactly how this has worked out for me, and that I write this for one reason and one reason alone, to let other drivers, new and old see that no one has to run 4000 miles a week to make a living, compared to a lot of other companies out there, the one I work for has done just fine by me since the day I hired on.

I guess if I worked for a teamster outfit I wouldn't have to work as hard as I do, sorry, let me go back a minute, I was a teamster back in '77,'78, '79 and '80, I.B.T. Local 804 in NYC. I decided then that wasn't for me. I have nothing against teamsters, they served a purpose a long time ago. For me I chose this path and it's been very rewarding for me. I have the luxury of making plans with my wife for the following weekend every time I come home. There's more to my job then just the money. Hometime, communication with the company, treatment, preplanning for the week, small company with the same dispatcher, and working for a company that has the most long term employees both as drivers and operations I have ever seen.

I'm not a cheerleader by any means, just a happy driver that will make about 55K this year and home every 3.5 days. Thanks for your understanding.
