I just finished the written part (2 weeks of a 4 week full time course) with Continental Truck Driver Training School. I am so very lucky I chose this school, and I know my fellow truckers-to-be feel the same way. They two trainers here at the Dallas school are seriously good.

Two old truckin guys who have racked up some solid years in the industry. On top of that, they are funny as heck, but deadly serious about making sure you get out there with the knowledge you need.

They also have a good recruitment assistance division. I have been hired already and I'm only 2 weeks in. On top of that, its one of the most affordable schools out there. CRST use them for their training. That also says a lot. The guy that runs this school is a straight up dude who will give you his personal cell phone number in the first week. If you have any issues at all, you have the number of the two trainers and the founder. Do yourself a favor and check these guys out. No school is perfect but this one might be close.

Hey just a quick update ... i graduated school today. Have my tanker and doubles/triples endorsements, need to get Hazmat next week. I got offers from McElroy, Dartco, Crete and Conway - the only four I applied for. I am going with Conway. Starting week after Thanksgiving. I really think Continental offer a great course. The instructors really know their stuff and care about their students. The staff are excellent and the owner is friendly, approachable and really listens to the students feedback. On top of all that, Continental (Dallas and Houston) offer some really good loan programs with very little down. If you're not going company paid, this is the next best thing. If you're considering a CDL school, check em out. I was happy as you can tell.

Sounds more like an employee trolling than an over-satisfied student.

I swear some of you truckers are the most cynical people on the planet. You don't understand why I'm excited to get my CDL because you don't know me or my situation. Just because someone is over enthusiastic doesn't mean theyre a troll.

Well you're right, that doesn't mean someone is a troll. But considering what you've written, it sounds more like someone trying to sell the school rather than share experience.

So I am starting Continental Truck Driving school in August 2013. I wanted to know how they drug test? I recently quit weed, and im trying to change my life and start a career in trucking. Do they take your urine to the lab or do they just test it righ then and there to see if your clean?? I want to get a job driving Tankers for Schneider if possible. If anyone has any experience in this please write back.

It is EXCELLENT that you quit weed and are trying to change your life for the better.
However, with the way both trucking company regulations and the federal government are, you may NOT stand a chance in Hades of getting on with a trucking company. You may want to give up trucking BEFORE having the drug test and spend the next 2 to 3 years of your life CLEANING UP and getting that "junk" out of your system. After 3 years, then try to get back into trucking, only make sure that you are CLEAN.

    Suggestions:
    1) Get PLENTY of exercise to keep your body in condition and level out all your numbers.
    2) Learn about and really practice nutrition.
    3) In addition to staying off of all drugs, you may want to give up on the alcohol, less chances of DUI's or DWI's.

    Good luck to you!

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
