After reading through all the posts I can honestly say from the time I started solo I have tried to be as courteous and respectful as possible. It does seem to help but there are some Drivers that could care less. You know they are. Its all about me, now get the f*** out of my way. To the comment about running nights, that is one of the reasons I like running at night when I have to. I think a lot of the old timers are out then and the mood of Drivers seems to be a lot different. That is just how I see it.
Truckers....not what I was expecting.

Why long face....i guess i feel toward "poop stains" much like the "poop stains" feel towards friendly, polite, courteous people.
Buffalo, you seem like a character. Really though, some of you guys are pretty funny....its good comic relief and actually makes me feel better about it to know that some of us retain our sense of humor.Buffalo Chip Thanks this. -
If everyone else around you is crude and rude, you should still do your best. That mentality will make you stand out. Shippers, receivers and other drivers will notice. Your company will notice. Being positive and dependable will make you go-to guy when the high dollar loads come down the line. Win-win.FEELTHEWHEEL Thanks this. -

Went and helped another driver fold up his rags today, the young guy looked at me for a second and said "are you going to help me?" Had a bit of a puzzled look, and I just laughed and said yes. I left him wrapping them up without giving him a chance to say thanks, just grabbed the dog and jogged off, My boy needed to stretch his legs!
