Tanker endorsement is free. 25 Questions. Easy. Comes in handy as you never know what might pop up.
Fatboy42 Thanks this. -
Haven't used my tanker endorsement in ten years, but it is good to have, never know when I may need it agian, in NY it's a 12 dollar one time fee for the test.

I can't remember, I was thinking mine was 10 questions?
It's the one piece of cake give me endorsements so why not. It looks cool having that TX on your CDL if you get your D&T too.
You never know when the right job opportunity will come along. -
Tanker/hazmat well worth it. For example; dry van driver may be making 35K per year, a tanker/hazmat driver will be making $65K per year. Of course there are exceptions, but this is pretty much average. Many extra pays also with tanker/hazmat such as unloading/loading pay, detention pay, time spent at trailer washout, per diem for meals, etc varies by company.

51 cpm is not unusual in tank work. Usually associated with more specialized equipment (cyrogenics) and more difficult/hazardous materials. Tank/Haz-Mat well worth additional costs, but you have to be willing to learn the trade and make use of it.

Having all the Endorsements is a good thing. It gives a driver more load and employment options.

I know of a Cyrogenics company in south central WI that was willing to train a driver on cyrogenics if you had a yr experience. Don't know if they are still doing it. They could bring on so many drivers per yr with limited experience to train for tanker cyrogenics. I know that they were at 51 cpm.

My class one was obtained back in 1979, upgraded to T and X in 1991. Did not graduate high school, so having hazmat and tank helped get some jobs in the past. Its a good thing to have and keep up even if you move on to another career.

Tanker is well worth it. Higher CPM and is easier than dry van with less hassle.
