Hey guys, quick question from a wannabe driver. In fifteen years of having my drivers license, I've recieved 2 speeding tickets, a ticket for no tag, and another ticket for no insurance. All of these tickets were recieved in the past two years. How damaging is this going to be for someone trying to get into the trucking industry?

i think they go back 3 yrs, hence they will all show up

doesnt look good, but someone else may know better

probably depends on who is asking

Every company has different hiring practices and criteria set for hiring. Be up front because if they uncover it then you are definately out. The no insurance ticket is probably the most worrisome because it shows a lack of resposibility.
    Best of luck to you....

the lapse in insurance could mean a lot of different things, of course it holds the most penalty because insurance companies lobbied (bribed) politicians to make it so

but missing a bill is not a sign of irresponsibility, just missed a payment

i have missed payments, not out of lack of responsibility, just tight times

The no tag and no insurance shouldn't be a problem as they are not moving violations. The two speeders may limit your options. I would contact a company you would have interest in starting a driving career with and see what they say.

The speeding tickets may be an issue. How fast were you going. If over 15 mph you might want to wait for those tickets to fall off in 3 to 5 years.

I live in NY and had no idea the insurance one was considered a moving violation ... live and learn. Dinomite may be right in waiting for them to drop off your MVR.

didnt think missed paying a bill was a lack of responsibility...hmmmnnn...interesting... btw insurance companies usually send you numerous warnings before they cancel your insurance... which is exactlty why you would get a NO INSURANCE TICKET... the fines are astronomical, hence holding the most weight.

Speeding tickets can be paid for and you can actually get them taken off your license by taking a defensive driving class. (you could also plea bargin if your juristiction will let you)

Check with your state, I know some states will suspend youre license for no insurance. No tag is not an issue, but the speeding will kill you,no pun intended. Most companies allow 3 moving violations, however that may not be the case for a rokkie trying to get in the door. I agree with the other guy call the company youre interested in and ask.
