When you do have hometime how long do you usually have at home? How often does Maverick usually get their drivers home?

I get home almost every weekend. It is usually just for my 34 hr reset. But i will leave out on a Sunday and park at a receiver to be able to have a full clock to start my week vs driving up on Monday morning.

So you are never home for a full weekend then? Like a Friday Saturday and Sunday?

Rarely...Full week ends like most people have are rare in the trucking industry.

I have read all your recent posts and can't stand to see you ask again on another thread how often a company gets a driver home....so I will help you out. It all depends on the position(regional,OTR, dedicated, etc.) and also driver preference and company policy. There are so many factors that even if you are used to or promised to get home every weekend, it wont always happen. Events is the trucking industry change every second and sometimes more than once. Besides some hourly local position, a full truckers weekend will be less than 48 hours. If home on Friday, it will probably be late and you will leave on Sunday anyhow. This is not all positions, but most.

IMO, you will be very disappointed with hometime and become another ex-driver. Your current siuation may not make you happy, but factor in being hunderds or thousands of miles away from home....unhappy....and possibly just as broke as when you were home every night. Better think reeeeealy hard about this decision.

Sorry for the hijack, on with the Maverick thread!

Well I know for a fact that I would have a lot more money, if I didn't have a gf at home I would be there already I was in the military and was single then so being gone didn't bother me. It's not me I'm worried about me and her have been together for two years and I think she will have a harder time with it then me. Maverick seems like an awesome company and I want to do it so bad! I love driving and driving a big truck pulling coils and lumber gets me so excited. Being able to strap and chain a load down and then tarp it to look nice also gets me excited. In my opinion being a truck driver is a big responsibility and it would be cool to be a part of something so big! They are the backbone of this country and without them everything stops......ugh it's a hard decision.

Very few wives like it. My wife is 100% disabled and can't drive so while I'm gone, she stays home. She can't get to doctors appointments, go to the grocery store or visit her 93 year old dad. But that's life and the sacrifices we have to make.
