Hi Jack,
I watched your review, thank you for taking the time to do it!
Anyway I was wondering if you had any info on the TND760 or TCP7600?
I have had a TND710 for the past year and other than the problems that everybody seems to have (power connector, freezing, wont turn on etc) I loved the features it provided and the mapping.
I hate that they took the scales out of the general map on the 720 as per your review.
So my 710 has quit completly now and I need a new GPS, some reviews on amazon about the 720 were very bad saying the mapping is not nearly as good as on the 710 amongst other issues, so I'm wondering if the 760 was a good way to go? I know there's a monthly subscription but I figure the handyness of the dispatch office being able to get full reporting of fuel, mileage, arrive and departure times and the list goes on, would be almost worth it if the hardware was better?
Your thoughts please Jack? -
Thanks for watching my review and joining my Facebook page. My 710 broke down twice and they fixed it for free twice. Are you sure they won't fix yours? If you're anything like me you just want the newest version anyway. Lol.
Actually, I need to update my review on the 720... There is a setting in preferences so that the scales and picnic tables show up on the map. By default they have the settings off which I don't quite understand. Rand McNally explained to me how to turn them back on.
Sorry to say I have no information on the other units you asked about. Again, thanks for watching I have been many new videos coming out.Foxcover Thanks this. -
Cheers Jack!
How do you find the maps? Are they the same as the 710? Also do you have to buy the seperate dongle for traffic like the 710 had? -
Oh and also, I saw the 720 unit on amazon for $342 but it said map subscription must be purchased separately, is that a subscription?

Hey Jack, Great review on the TND 720. I use the 510. I just recently purchased the lifetime maps for it, and updated it. They made some nice changes to it. Minus the weather feature, it's basically just a 5" 720. I don't have an ipad, mi-fi, or wi-fi hotspot so that wouldn't do my any good anyway.
You talked about the clock. I too like it, and have the same problem as you. It's just too small. However did you notice that at the top of the digital dashboard (speedometer), there are clocks. It will show your base time, the time of your current location, and your ETA. That's something they added in the update for the 510 anyway. It wasn't there before.
Oh, I've watched about every video that you've posted. Really enjoy them. They're very professional. I love doing videos myself. Have about 10 yrs experience in the post-production side. I haven't attempted to do much like yours though. My mug is one of those best suited for radio, and I don't think I have much of a radio/voice-over voice.
Anyway thanks again for the review and other great videos.
