Went to work today and was told to take a heavy pete to get a new grain trailer. This was the only truck in the shop and since we got 16 inches of snow it was the only one that was going to start without some work. When i was doing my pretrip i noticed the fifth wheel plate had two locking levers. Asked one of the mechanics what the second one was for. He said he never seen one.
Well got back with the trailer and i cant get it unhooked. Pulled both of them out and it will not release. Will be tomorrow mornings issue. Supose one of the other mechanics knows what to do and ill be considered the dumb ### for the day.
Anybody have experience with this.

Yes set the brakes on the trailer back in to the trailer set truck breaks. Now pull the small handle and lock it out but either pulling up or down with it still out. Now you can pull the other handle like normal and it should release. The second lever is a secondary saftey latch. Had them on the military trucks and My familys company has 5 trucks with them on.
