Trucking Company that hates to pay Owner-Operators

"Attention" Owner-Operators that work in the Intermodal Industry in the Kansas City, area. "STOP" Beware signing up with DNJ Intermodal. This company hates to pay. I was leased to this "SORRY" company from April 2011 to Nov. 2012. Every week I had to endure pay shortages. Refused to pay "Equipment Splits" wouldn't pay tours "GOING and RETURNING" on a trip, When I did local work I wouldn't get paid for some local moves. Every pay period I had to deal with this. When you catch and show the manager where you weren't paid it could still take weeks to get paid for the shortages, mean while you're still getting short on future settlements. There were times I was six weeks and longer waiting to get my settlement sheets caught up. He tried to get out of reimbursing for "Scaling Loads" and Toll Reimbursement. Lying to Owner-Operators was nothing to this guy. He would tell us anything he thought we wanted to hear. The manager had no remorse when it came to lying. He had the most Owner-Operator turn over I've ever was aware of. One month he would have thirty-five Owner-Operators, after they figured out what was going on he would have fifteen or less. Usually after a few months the Owner-Operator would realize this and turn in their Plates, and Placards. I spoke to a number of them after they were there a few weeks and asked them were they being shorted on their settlements, some accused him of being a cheat, they responded yes! They began looking for somewhere else to go. I stayed there longer than any Owner-Operator because I lived two miles from the office, it was convenient, and just hoped every week I'd be paid correctly. It could take me an hour or better to figure out my settlement sheet, because instead of paying what I was due for that day and in the correct order I performed the duty, his crew would make payment out of order or on another day. DNJ Intermodal was and is, relentless about frustrating an O-O when it come to figuring out what was due them at Settlement time. It's ridiculous. This company is worse than Horizon Freight I was leased to in 2004. To sue these companies, you have to go to the Home State they're out of. You can sue these Jerk Offs in the State they set up an Office in, if you win, you still have to sue in their Home State to be awarded any damages. It's Crazy. Owner-Operators have no rights or protection, which explains why companies prefer Owner-Operators over company drivers. It's a big scam. Bigger than Scams on the internet. Owner-Operators BEWARE! you'll be money ahead if you avoid these scamming experts "BIG TIME".
