I thought I found the job I was going to retire in with NFI. Recruiter mentioned and add said $1,100/wk. Recruiter told me I'd make at least that. After 4 months only 1 week did I make that. I was giving them time as new accounts were opening. I did complain though maybe to much. I just wasn't making enough to support my family. My last run with NFI was same run as week prior. I stopped at a small, local, safe truck-stop. I called my wife to pick me up so I could go to church with the family. I had plenty of time on load and was going to take my 10hr break at home. When I talked to dispatch and they found out I wasn't on truck she said " That's bad That's really bad" than something about sending someone out to PU truck/trailer than slam. I tried calling back but only got voicemail, about 2 hours before my 10 hrs was up someone PU truck/trailer. I was never informed before this, that I couldn't take my 10 hr break at home with my truck parked safely at a good truck-stop. I was on a dedicated account we worked separate from national NFI. The main acccount depot was in Kansas City, I worked out of Topeka KS. So we were somewhat isolated. I was let go the following Monday. I thought it was kinda funny. Until I start getting app's rejected, now kinda scary. Having to get loan on Life Insurance to buy food. Found out NFI put negatives on my DAC. Many drivers, especially the ones working out of Kansas City do very good. They have good runs that pay well.

Driver just a heads up most large company trucks are equiped with elogs like I am sure NFI should have. And can send an out of truck notice that dispatch will send back a yes or no to. The company I have been driving for request a preapproved safe parking spot. My truck gets parked next to the police station. But all that should have been covered in orientation.

I never had orientation ( to speak of ), spent about 20 minutes with terminal manager, signed for DOT book and received drivers handbook.
The fella in charge of truck maintenance than ran me thru Qual-com. Rest of learning was with other drivers in Topeka, KS.

The odd thing on this trip was nothing was on my QC. I was dispatched by cellphone, it was the same load I did prior week so I did it the same way.
While in Denver, I did try sending messages no one would answer and only got voicemail with cellphone, I attributed this to it being the weekend.

I think they wanted to let me go because they wanted someone else to fill my slot. There are three friends working in Topeka, KS, each out of NM where they worked together before moving to Topeka. I thought it odd when they brought the third one in from NM. Because at the time we didn't have enough work, for the drivers already there. I even questioned him if they told him what he'd be doing. NFI messed up my DAC and I was with them for only 4 months. I tried clearing it up but NFI said no change advised to hireright ( Gestapo ). I thought it kinda funny, at first. Than when I try getting a job, not so funny anymore. I have " company policy violation " my mvr is clear , the csa I think I have 8 points, 6 for a headlight out once and 1 for my log not being on the current duty. Odd in the home of the free,( I hate it when people say It's a free country) we have more alphabet organizations than Russia ever dreamed of. I looked through the drivers handbook and can't see where I violated anything. If I had taken truck home I would of but truck/trailer were safely parked at a good small truck-stop, Maple Hill, KS, 5 miles from my home. My wife picked me up and that's it. For the first time in my life I may hire a lawyer. I also have no accidents. I talked to a recruiter who recruits for 35 different companies we went through my record he said I was golden, until I told him about this on my DAC. Than he said I'd probably would have to drive for an O/O. If I had some funds I'd just start my own company.

Yes, we had elogs, I went off duty to take my 10 hr break, same load as prior wk same truck-stop.
Only difference this time I got fired. I had no idea it was a " company policy violation" until after the
fact. I tried explaining and promised I'd never do it again. This is a very safe truck-stop @ Maple Hill, KS on I70, 5 miles from my home.
I filed a complaint with hire-right to remove bad from my DAC but NFI came back with no change advised, so I've got " Company policy violation " on my DAC. It's a bigger deal than I thought it would be , trying to get another job.
