Getting rid of bed bugs from a semi truck sleeper berth

spring cleaning as often as possible

 

They are extraordinarily difficult to get rid of. They hide in the tiniest of cracks, behind any surface they can get around. You'll need to clean weekly for a long time, and find a safe bug-killer that you can use in the truck that will git 'em. They can be dormant for a year and still be alive.

 

If you know of any crevices where they might be hiding, cook those suckers with a heat gun. Diatomaceous earth also works wonders, but the downside is that you will have white powder everywhere. Use the food grade DE and its totally safe and even good for you to ingest. This was how we beat our bed bug problem.

 

Difficult, if not impossible to get rid of without taking the vehicle out of service for 2-3 months. A lot of misinformation posted regarding bedbugs, makes the problem even worse...causing it to become a country-wide epidemic. Vikayne will not kill eggs, and has no residual...temporarily relieves existing live infestation. Thermal remediation drives them deep into harborage areas, resulting in their return soon after the treatment. Pesticides require insects to be in contact with the treated surface long enough to absorb a leathel dose of the active ingredient. Since the insect comes out, travels a short distance to the host, feeds, and returns to its harborage ares, they don't come in contact with the pesticide long enough to absorb a lethal dose. There is an effective means of treating tractor trailers, but it requires taking them out of service. One other thing. Nobody has ever mentioned to you that in order for bedbugs to reproduce, they have to have a blood meal; no blood meal, no new babies. Also, in order for the babies to metamorphi from one stage to the next, they have to have a blood meal; otherwise, babies remain babies. Don't be duped into "guarantee" or "quick" remedies...they merely tell you what you want to hear to get your money. Consumers have been duped out of $100's of millions for ineffective products and services. And, yes, I have been successfully treating bedbugs for 15 years; been in the pest control industry for 25 years. Good luck.
