US129 was just restricted earlier this year. Updated maps will fix that. That road+53'=geedee death trap

Did Tennessee restrict it too? My 2013 Road Atlas lists it as restricted in NC but its still a highlighted STAA route in TN. That's a recipe for disaster, lol.

I once took a 53 foot trailer across US50 in West Virginia. Not a good idea.

I don't think it matters, as there is no where in TN to go to on 129. Unless you're gonna park at the border you're gonna roll in to NC

I saw that. Left me wondering where exactly its restricted at.

Anyways, its still going to be a headache. If the route is highlighted, you're going to assume its ok to.use it. I bet a lot of drivers see its highlighted on the TN side and incorrectly assume its ok to run in NC even though its not highlighted.

That's why you get sent routing. If you don't know its ok, follow the route and CONFIRM with the atlas. They have a big sign up before you get to it, "no trailers over 28'," you can't miss it.

Is there a sign on both sides that states this? Or just in NC?

I've been there a few times on 4 wheels, wouldn't dream of it even pulling a pup.

I've had to go up to Robbinsville, NC a couple times and from seeing those pictures thank god I called the company and got directions.. would have never made it up 129 with a 48" spread axle.. But I'm pretty sure theres no good way to get up to those towns in a semi
