Thanks yes I know that it's just annoying "turn right 2 miles, 1 mile, etc" every exit. In chicago thats like every block. Lol was wondering if theres a fix besides shutting it off. I still always check my route with map book and write down exit numbers and other info. I won't be one of those that follow the gps into the river!:biggrin_2556:

Don't know about the GPS, I have a car one, and only use it for a rough time estimate and mileage estimate.

And now I'm finally in a dock and light just turned red. Looks like I'll be splitting to get down there.

Hope everybody made it through this mess alright. Ended up splitting to deliver down in Breinigsville, PA. It was raining pretty good last night, windy too. I'm sitting at the Hickory Run Travel Plaza on 476 waiting until midnight to get hours back so I can pick up my load in Tunkhannock going to Wells, ME. That reset I didn't get in Arizona is really coming back to bite me now, oh well. I'll get there, drop and hook, and be on my merry way. Ha, get it?

After Christmas, I'll be picking up in Auburn, ME right by the house going out to Baraboo, WI for Friday morning, and hopefully up to the yard to get my new office. Be safe all.

Noticed that I've been slacking on posting my paid miles, so since I'm waiting for midnight to roll around, here we go.

Week after Turkey day: 1887 paid miles
Next week: 2630 paid miles (3 days off in Cali)
    Last week: 3714 paid miles
This week: 2959 paid miles with 2 runs going on next weeks check due to cutoff.

    Be safe all!

Hello everyone I hope you all made it through the nasty weather ok? I did and I am home for Christmas. I had some sitting time in the last couple runs and was able to mess with my GPS some. I found that I did not have the settings set correctly. I had to tell it what types of roads I wanted to travel on to make it work right. As it was it was routing me through scenic country roads as much as possible and was staying away from toll roads as much as it could hence the always wanting to turn at every exit it saw. Once I changed these settings it now works better!
I've also decided to leave my thread that I had going and come to this thread. I hope you don't mind Weeble!? Lol It will make it easier then bouncing back and forth. So with this week over I should say this is my best week so far. In 5 days I was able to rack up 2700 miles, and for this Christmas week having 3 days off I've already started with 700 miles from Friday night into Saturday.
I've been a little concerned with my truck being at home. The place I park does not have a plug in for me and it has been in the teens at night. So I have been leaving the Opti Idle on while I'm at home. I shut the truck off during the day when its warmer. So I'm wondering if others have this same problem and what you do? I asked at work and their solution was drop my trailer and bring my truck to plug in? Well I can't do that my town only allows vehicals D plate or smaller. I may have to find a different parking spot maybe? As for now this spot is free to me and it is a secure place.
Anyways I think that is enough for now. I hope everyone is able to have a Very Merry Christmas at home with their loved ones! :reindeer:

No problem at all jbk, the more the merrier! Got home yesterday at noon after I dropped my loaded trailer in Wells and hooked up to an MT for my next preplan going to Wisconsin. Roads weren't too bad coming back, and since I was traveling under the cover of darkness, I was able to avoid most traffic.

Hope everyone gets home safely, and have a Merry Christmas!

What is the rule about California and 2004 and older trucks? I am driving a 2004 with 2003 engine but I have an apu. I was hoping to take an Arizona run later and might end up in California. I haven't made the quarterly safety meeting yet.

Trucks 1340 and older can not go out to California after January 1st. It is a $1000 fine for the first offense. When I go out to the yard next week, I will be getting my newer truck. Just get there before New Year's and you should be fine.

Hey Weeble, I'm very interest in driving for H.O.W. But I am wonder do they do hair follicle test? I have stay clean and quit for about 2 months since I started trucking school. But I am still afraid that might show up on the test.

As far as I know, it's just a whiz quiz. It was when I want through orientation.
