Life at American Central Transport (ACT)

Hey BK... I want to thank you for keep this up for the last 2 years... I just found it yesterday but have went through and read the whole journey. One of the most informative reads I've read in a while.

I signed up with ACT before finding you posts, as I have been out of Trucking for right at 1 year and was having trouble getting hired. I was contacted by Marsha , filled out the app last week, and was offered a position yesterday with ACT. I have to go through their ReACTivation program, which is 1-2 weeks with a trainer... But I'm just happy for the opportunity to be back. After 90 days (don't quote me on that) I think Marsha said I will have the opportunity for The Lease program, and as skeptical as I was about it, your posts have made me a believer and I am looking forward to that opportunity. Orientation for me starts Jan 14 so I will update then... Thanks again bud for all your help...

Hey Ernie,Good for you! I am going thru the same thing! I am in the army, and I am going to have to make a decision soon! I found one of their (ACT) flyers at a college,where I got my CDL,and my counselor asked me if I could drive a stick shift. I replied yes,then she handed me the flyer......I read it and I got to the part about lease operator......I was instantly curious! Then I found the Truckers Report and BKs thread...Not a day goes by that I don't read it! And I am a skeptic too!! I have always wanted to have my own business,and ACT seems as though they can make it possible! And now when I look for jobs,especially trucking jobs,no one else will do,because I am always comparing them to ACT! They just seem so sincere,don't they? So...after reading your thread,iI think I am going to give them a whirl! I've never drove here in the states,just Germany,so I am looking forward too it,especially making money!! So,thank you Ernie and you too BigKid2 for keeping it interesting,and I hope we can all meet somewhere down the road!

I called ACT yesterday and they told me that they could no t hire me out of Spartanburg because they could not get me home.

 

Your always picking up at bloomfield. I live like 35 miles from bloomfield in poplar bluff. Im sure you see a lot of gregory logistics trailers there, as they do ALOT of buisness there. Well, keep er safe bud.
