I applied Schneider job online last week. I keep missing recruiter call once a day. I called back and she never answer her phone. She only call once a day and left message saying call me. So I called few times during the day for next 4 days and she never answer her call. I've left one message each day. I've contact other recruiter at Schneider, they couldn't find her in her office. Ughh. Guess she must got enough drivers fill her quota i guess?? I even request different recruiter but this guy said he can't because of location where i live, they use that recruiter in this location.

Anyone ever heard of AZ STAR Transportation in NJ? Got pre hired. I took piss drug test and once test pass, I can start with them. Schneider was my first choice but look like AZ STAR will get me first. I'm ok with that.

Amazing in this day and age how people cannot communicate effectively. And the time wasted. I belong to a major health provider who is forever encouraging us to use the internet to communicate with them, but when I do, they call on the phone and I'm not home, so they leave a message to call them, and when I do, I get an automated system and then have to leave them a message. I'm wondering why they don't just respond back VIA the internet or leave a detailed message on the answer machine. So much time wasted and aggrivation.

Yeah no kidding. With all this technology and I still can't get thru my Schneider recruiter, Kim Krause. I got her automatic email from her saying I'm qualified, passed background screening test, etc etc and want to get ahold of me. So for giggle one last time, I called her number, same thing. Got recording message. Since I have her email address, I send her email past Monday. As of Wednesday, nothing..

So AZ STAR has been excellent. She has been in touch with me, has gotten me moving thru like interviewing, background check, drug test, road test, etc and look like I will be starting for them next week. So if anyone ever work or still work for AZ STAR, I would love to hear your experience. They use RoadTex trailer, Ryder truck (rental), and OTR to places like California, Texas, Michigan. From what I've heard, I will be teaming up and will be home every weekend. I sure hope I will be home every weekend since I have 2 kids I would like to spend time. I don't want be out 2-3 weeks, they'll never will know their daddy.

I have also been pre-hired by AZStar. All trucks have Roadtex on them. Everybody speaks russian. Does anyone have anything good to say about them ? and does anyone know about the connection with Roadtex ?

Stay away from them. I do not recommend working for this company. They don't even own trucks. After researching, it look like the company is chameleon carriers. Shutting down one location and move to new location under new company name. Not 100% but I wouldn't be surprised. I got screwed so i moved on to better truck company.

Yes they do haul reefer roadtex trailers. Nothing good about the company. Lack of parking space for you to park your vehicle, teaming with someone you don't know (can you trust this person while u sleeping?), u might change your rental truck somewhere which i did in denver, colorado. Are you gonna get $400? remember they lies, you be home after 5 days but the real truth is you'll be out much longer and the pay is still $400. Can you accept that?

    i suggest you keep looking..

They are note as bad as first thought.... They give new drivers and drivers with dui's a chance. Home time is as you call it. You can go out for just one week and take a week off.

I giggled quite a bit when I first read through all this... Let me clarify and shed some REAL light on Roadtex LTL / AZSTAR Logistics... The student training phase: You're paid a flat tax-free rate of $50 a day, yes that is true... HOWEVER, you ARE paid $50 for EVERY DAY that you are out, and while in the student training phase, your time out and home time is up to your trainer... your trainer may only do a standard trip (6-8 days out) and decide that he wants to take 3 days off, well, then that's what you get. You are in the student training phase for 15,000 miles, which amounts to about 5 standard trips. It doesn't matter if you're out working on a Sunday or Saturday, you're still paid for those days too... If you happen to perform outstandingly, then dispatch might even decide to promote you to driver early (happened to me), then, once you're an actual driver, you start at $0.30 per mile, and are pretty much gauranteed 3000 miles in 7-8 days, yes, that does amount to an average of ~$900-~$1000 a trip.

AZSTAR is only a small fleet of trucks that is contracted to Roadtex LTL, once you visit even a handful of Roadtex warehouses, you'll see other names on the doors of trucks hauling Roadtex trailers, AZSTAR themselves are only a few years old, they're still young, and so is Roadtex.

If you're going to make an argument, make sure you ACTUALLY know what you're talking about first... just sayin :biggrin_1square1:

PS You don't have to get a new/different co-driver everytime you go out, if you get a co-driver you like, and want to team up with them permanently, definitely possible, so long as you both agree on days out and days home...
