Calex Express....My New Home!

Our ship has docked. Actually it was yesterday morning at 7am. By noon I was home and at 2pm I was in the Dentist chair getting a root canal. I knew about this a week before we left on our cruise. I needed a root canal and a deep cleaning on my teeth.

We had a blast on our cruise, we ate, relaxed, slept, saw 6 ports, one of which, Cartagena Columbia, was a first for us after 15 cruises, rented a Harley in Cozumel for the whole day and generally enjoyed every minute of the 11 nights. Now it's time to get back into the real world.

I called into dispatch as I was waiting to go through customs yesterday to let Jason know I will be ready to roll Monday morning. After I got home I went and started my truck up, checked it all out and didn't get my dispatch yet. I'll go back today and see where I'm off to for Monday.

Like I have always believed and preached, there's more to life than work, now if I can only play more than work.

I've made that kind of money since I started here in '09. In fact, it's gone up every year I've been here. Oh, plus I'm home in my bed the same 4 nights every week. I guess I'm lucky then, all I've done is my job, safely for the 4 years I've been here, get along perfectly with Louie and Jason, have been late once due to road closure caused by snow, and have been on a dedicated run right to the house since July. No company can make everyone happy, you weren't, I am. What more can be said? I started this blog when I first started working for Calex, I've told everyone that cared to read the good and the bad, and I'm still here. Not because I have to be here, but because I want to be here.

 

His one post, my 2200, I guess he know's the deal. The vacation was a blast. Now the fun really starts.

I'll be up there late Tuesday night. I load in Miami on Monday with a load going to Jersey, but I'm bringing it to the yard so I can start the routine again.
