Since we haul into Canada sometime we do not carry any type of weapon, the Canadians wont even allow pepper spray. So I have a big knife in my toolbox along with a hammer and tire thumper. I also carry a blow torch for bad weather driving that in conjunction with an aerosol can works wonders. When all else fails I will run someone over with the #### truck or just sick the wife on them

I was a big knife collector and usually had them tossed all over the truck within reach from about anywhere. Grab the nearest one when I needed a tool and toss it back wherever, collect more every few truckstops. That stopped July '10 when I got sent to jail for the first time. DOT let me go on a few truck issues with warnings, then searched my cab. After returning the 2 loaded handguns I'd taken to carrying when I fell into a route that kept me in open carry states, they put the bracelets on me cause my lunchmeat knife happened to be an 8" blade with a handguard.

I carry a pistol and I have a permit to carry one, now I know there are states that want to say that is a no-no. I look at it as a right and not just because a really old looking piece of paper says so. It is a personal right to protect yourself, if someone was going to attack a trucker they would probably have a weapon to use, even if they had no right to carry one. To me, it is better to have a weapon and not need it than it is to need it and not have it. :biggrin_25522:

FWIW, the good ol' Show me state, Missouri, is working up legislation to ban semi-auto assault weapons. No grandfather clause, and it will be a Class C Felony if you refuse to destroy, permanently disable, or surrender yours.

Just Google Missouri's new Gun Control Legislation, here's a link to one...
    http://nation.foxnews.com/gun-contr...irearms-gives-gun-owners-90-days-turn-weapons

What is an assault weapon, or semi-auto? There's no real specific definition included in the bill. You do know that there's no actual assault weapon, ie; firearm. Colt, S&W, H&K, or whoever do not manufacture an assault weapon. They make rifles, shotguns, handguns. The assault weapon terminology is a political term.

Semi-auto firing guns can include pistols AND revolvers. Of course for rifles or shotguns, it would exclude the bolt-action, lever-action and pump-actions, which are the means the firearm loads the round into the chamber.

If that bill passes and becomes law, do you want to get caught in Missouri? IF this thing passes, do you not think that they will be very, very, very aggressive at enforcing it? Don't be surprised if the DOTs at the scales start asking if you have any in your truck, AND start searching them.

This bill does not have a chance in hell to pass. If it did, there are a lot of cops that wouldn't enforce it, and there would be a lot killed trying to enforce it.

It hasn't been that long since Mo. passed their concealed carry law.

I think most people are not going to see through this bill, that it is the door-opener. They will have the implanted stigma of the AR-15's as being the only firearms affected. That's why they use the term assault weapons. They're going to focus on that to get the bill passed. The only opposition would be the gun collectors, especially when they throw the "why do you need" term around. How many people really use an AR-15 to hunt deer or whatever?

I agree that if passed their will be a problem with enforcement, I don't know if the majority of the local sheriff's are pro or con on this. I know Kansas they are against this sort of thing. However there are law enforcement officials that still think the 2nd Amendment means they can have a National Guard, and does not mean that citizens have the right to firearms. That is what is scary. Yes, if passed, it will not be a pretty picture.

if i don't have my pistola , a fire extingusher works good also aim it at the eyes, or go buy a can of wasp and hornet spray and aim it at the eyes too..... Neither one are illegal if your opposed to carrying a gun.... Ps. I love the flair gun idea too.
