Keenan transport Memphis

im scheduled to start with kenan monday with the dot physical and drug test etc...then safety class the next morning, then training with another driver for a couple weeks...can anyone tell me if kenan uses a work well physical as well...you know the thing where you have to lift the weights, push, pull, etc? please give me some details...thanks alot

 

Don't think so. I never did one for them. The only company that did that for me was Dupre and it was a piece of cake. Nothing strenuous at all. I'm in the chemical division so it maybe different for gas hauling. Even if it was, you would have no problem passing it. Hazmat drivers are at a premium right now so they aren't going to squander your application over that. No, the only thing that annoyed me somewhat was that dumb Smith system of driving. As if I don't know how to drive a truck by now. I have my own system of driving. Also don't be surprised if they try to lecture you on drug and alcohol abuse. It's amazing how a few bad apples can convince companies like Kenan to go ahead and drill it into us about a topic which has no bearing on my life. Just another form of intrusion that I didn't welcome.
But good luck, despite my little rant, Kenan is a pretty decent company.

 

man i hope your right lol....the weights might give me a little problem but im confident ill sqeeze by. its the step test where you step up and down on the 12 inch step for 1 minute...i can do one minute barely. anything over that im screwed. sure, i can stand to be in better shape....thing is, im sure kenan had alot of applicants, and they chose me, with no prior tanker experience...( i just got my tanker and hazmat end. back in may) when did you work for them? I wont be hauling gas....ill be doing unloading off a rail car...butane
