If you are paying fuel you get 60% + 100% of fsc..70 cpm is what Panther going rate for vans these days I heard,so if the van gets .70 cpm that means you get .42 cpm + fsc which I have no idea what the going rate for fsc for vans are but straight trucks where around .20cpm - .29cpm Also make sure you get 60% on all loaded empty miles Panther pays empty miles after 50 miles that's if it still set up that way depends on her contract with Panther.

Also I should ad there a lot of van jobs out there and if that's what you want to drive look around more cause I seen van owners offering a 65/35 65% to driver which is little bit more $$.Just an FYI.

For orientation you need to either fly to Ohio or take the Greyhound,I flow but I live in Florida. Also find out if the van is at Panther HQ or do you need to pick up the van. Also you need to find out if he/or she going to pay for your hotel room,as from what I saw each time I was in Seville van drivers stay in the hotel there a super 8 2 miles up the road and there a lady who will give you a ride from the hotel to Panther and back to the hotel after class.Find out if the owner going to pay for your cost to get to Seville and hotel,I think the hotel is $45 per night + tax but check with them first.

Report card for truckers, most mega carriers bible,it tells trucking companies about your driving experience like when you started with them when you quit/or fire,if you had any accidents if so it gives a brief detail,if your rehireable, also shows all DOT drug tests you may have taken and if you pass or not..You can request a copy of your DAC at no cost once a year or as many times you want for a cost,I order a copy of my DAC once a year every year,in fact I just got it few weeks ago.

Well, I've been reading this thread on Panther and I also am considering getting on with them. Thinking of going the O/O route with either a cargo van or a straight truck. Like Sterling1970 I am new to this. Any advice if being an O/O is a good way to go? My main concern is if there is enough freight for a cargo van to be profitable. Of course the recruiter says there is. I am looking at my options right now. I do have my Class A but I have been out of school for 9 months. I like the idea of being an independent contractor. Any insights?

It's really not a good idea to start out as an O/O with out any experience. But that's your choice and with Panther they don't require experience for their S/T and Cargo Vans. As far as freight goes I have heard they have pretty good continuous freight except for the slow season January to March. I ended up going on with Schneider and I love it but good luck to you.:biggrin_25525:
