Just about anything you can think of. I dont think we run tankers or heavy haul.

They routed me through Montana. There is one in Great Falls but I think I miss it. There is one in Spokane...I'm betting I take this one all the way.

The DMs have a job to do and while they do what they can for you for a family emergency, they can't always accomdate especially when your in mid load. However if he is aware of your situation he maybe working on something on the other end to get you turned around. Welcome to the life of a trucker this happens no matter the name on the door.

I must say that whoever plans my loads does a fantastic job one getting me home on or before the day I request. I was late for hometime once about 6 months ago because I got stuck in Laredo.

I'm now sitting in North Platte, NE. I'm about 3 miles from my first drop and I have to wait until 8am to do it. Then I'm off towards Billings, MT for fuel. I'm not going to have enough time to make it tomorrow. I'll have to stop along the way and spend the night. I'm not looking forward to going across MT with only 6000lbs in my trailer. The wind can be an issue. I'm guessing that's why I'm not going through WY.

Of course I made another mistake today. When I picked up the load I checked the BOL for the address of the first stop. The gal in shipping asked if I was there to take the load to North Platte and on to WA. I said yes. The BOL matched so I hooked up and sent in the loaded macro. I get a ways down the road and look at the second BOL. It's not the same address. I pull over and send in a msg letting them know the address on the BOL. I also asked if I could Tcall the load someplace so I could get home. I got a response from one of the high ups letting me know that we could discuss the T call after I dropped the load in NE and that Spokane was the only option. I doubt that is gonna happen. Too short of a run. It looks like I'll be at least a week late getting home. Not really what I was hoping for.

"Week late getting home" where you already scheduled to be headed home or is this in reference to not being able to be home for the water pipe problem? Can't say your going to be late if you weren't scheduled to go home yet.

Yes, I was scheduled. I haven't asked to go home for the pipes. Either way I still have miles to cover and why not go loaded and get paid for it. I'll get home eventually. At least I'm not trying to get out on a helicopter in a dust storm.

    Trucker2 Thanks this.

Hi Sheriff! How would you describe your interactions with all you've come in contact with over the road? You mentioned a few angry people here and there, but overall how's the experience been in dealing with people? I know you're previous experience in law enforcement has probably helped you develop a thick skin. Also, how would you characterize your relationship with your DM, etc?
