You guys still driving for them.... You have to realize these are the worst trucks on the road, right? I have seen some trucks with broken door handles, duct taped mirrors, broken window cranks, broken interior lights, broken wipers, bungy cord hood straps, missing windows in the bunk, cabinets completely missing from cab, rusted shut air slides. Forget about working A/C. Looks like something from a post apocalyptic world. I have never seen trucks with this much rust on them. I have never, ever seen trucks this bad before.

Did you have a trailer with all mismatched tires from a 3rd world junk yard? I think my reefer was from the 80s. The casing cover was smashed in. The access door could not be opened with taking off the hinges. There were holes in my trailer that I could stick my foot in, yet this is a reefer with aluminum floor. I had more flats in one month in their Cambodian trailer than 13 years of trucking combined.

Over the years, I would see their trucks at truckstops in Albuquerque, Amarillo, Ok city, DFW, Knoxville and PA. It was always for a break down. Who ever mentioned the creative logbooking is right. It is impossible to run legal with them. They won't allow it. The qualcom wil go off non stop. I understand some truckers like to run like that, but sooner or later, it will catch up to them. With such inferior equipment, it is too dangerous.

O/Os stay away from this company. It is not worth the pain and anguish. :biggrin_25513:

Agreed on most points. I am fulfilling my 90 day obligation with them to avoid being charged the hotel fees and airfare they paid to fly me to orientation. After that, will be seeking a better company. Should not be hard to find. :biggrin_25525:

    Hey Trucker,

that is truly tough to swallow. I feel for you man. This is a difficult situation. Do they cuss on the qualcom like every message they write. I have never heard of anybody using the F word so much. If you need a ride to the airport let me know. Where in NY, you from?

Well, no cussing on qualcom, but on the phone they are really bad. Every other word is the "F" word it seems. They require 2 weeks notice if you want a day home, so Tomorrow I will qualcom my 2 week notice to them that I am done on Feb. 15. Already have plane ticket for Phoenix to Buffalo on the 17th. Will stay at hotel the 16th I suppose. Could fly out on the 16th, but then the wife would have the 2 hr drive to pick me up after dark and she just got her license. Better in daytime on 17th. Have recruiters already working on jobs for me. I made better money driving regional, and I was home every week. 4 drivers that I know of have left Petersen in past month. You want a job, they now have trucks waiting. lol

I know this is now a year old thread but I'm going to apply with Petersen's in the next few months.....the biggest problems I see (for some) are a crappy looking world corporate headquarters.......some folk in the office that weren't born in an English speaking country! .....really people..in the USA? ...and old, maybe not so gently used equipment, which Petersen has shown that by employing a ratio of 1:10 mechanics to truck and a willingness to jump on any problems that will keep the vehicles running. Now transpose these issues on the "big ten" of trucking companies in the USA that are constantly criticized and what do you end up with........Petersen answers their phones quickly......they pay good.......you don't hunt for trailers prior to loading......they know who you are. Negatives.....the equipment isn't brand new and they don't have APU's..... think about what you want out of your life and how new trucks and APU's can help your income and family.
    Just my opinion.....

You do what you have to do. It's a tough economy and people still losing their jobs, so we do what we have to do for our families.
