Anybody here in the food service industry (Shamrock Foods, US Foods, etc)? Looking to move to the Phoenix area. Was looking for some info on good companies to work for and average salaries in this area. I'm currently in the industry and have experience. Any help would be great, Thanks!

I put 8 years in at usfoods but in Allentown Pa they where a Great company. They got sold few years ago not as good as it was. But still top tier company. My main complaint was they put cameras in the turcks like alot of companys do now that record voice and video. They say it is for crashes but was getting called in every day for 2 or 3 things that where just dumb. but make alot of money if you put time in when you first start they call you on as needed basis so may only work 3 days a week. takes years to get your own runs but i still made 65K first year when i left i was around 85k. dont know if helps you in Phoeix but gives some info on company there web site has job openings posted.

they are currently making around 22 an hour in AZ, overtime after 40, company pension and benefits, overall, looks like a pretty good job. I drive for US Foods in the northeast, its a good paying job, but the company is top heavy and not very worker friendly, either warehouse or driver. AZ just went union 2 years ago, so you are probably walking into some not so friendly management, just for a cya.

but if you are looking for money, and dont care about a prick boss, it looks pretty lucrative..
