There is such a thing as a learning curve. Id rather have a guy driving one of my trucks who learned how to drive in his late teens with 10 years of experience over a guy who learned to drive in his 30's with 20 years of experience. But what would I know. Im only a Lumper who can occasionally drive

You say you will not hire a guy from school yet you say (later in post) that you are talking about this post is directed towards newbies... To me that is contradicting what you started with. Your attitude is going to make you a lot of enemies on this forum. Just my 2 cents.

How many guys pay a lot of money to those schools just to get their CDL without having actual real life driving skills? Too many for my liking.

You act as if everybody on here is stupid or something maybe if you changed you attitude you might get some better input. "Sorry if that is news to you" I did not go to school I started on dump trucks back in mid 90's and worked from there. I learned a lot by listening to a lot of people and still learn everyday and I hope that I help people out also but I DO NOT act like I am better than they are as some people do not going to mention the name MasterHouseholdMover
