You mean like the time i was dumb enough to take a load against my better judgment from PA to OH for $550 300 miles wasnt too bad of a rate and could have actually made a small amount on that load accept i was hit at the PA turn pike for $109 and another $45 in tolls after that plus fuel doesnt even give me anything for wear ND TEAR ON MY EQUIPMENT AND NOTHING IN THE FORM OF PROFIT way i see it the rate formula needs to change and it needs to be changed by the drivers that understand these costs not the broker or the shipper needs to be based on miles + weight + tolls + any other fees inured
TQL - "What kind of a rate would you need to make that work?"

oh i dont blame the broker completly i know my lack of attention to detail was partly to blame however running a business sometimes you have more on your mind and sometimes things get missed however I do blame the brokers for being shady about it after all i might have made a mistake but the brokers fed me miss information on purpose that i cant excuse

ITS will never do anything to TQL. TQL is one of the largest brokerages in the country they do billions in business The only thing that works to correct TQL behavior is the market. When you see TQL you do not call. Of course toss in some carriers who do very well there with good agents, along with carriers who just need easy backhauls made simple, and a steady stream of suckers. Well, you get the idea what you're up against Only thing in your control really is what you do.
roadrover Thanks this. -
Another TQL classic
Had a reefer posted in Columbia, SC looking for Birminham, AL needing to get a load picked up there tomorrow. TQL calls said he has a hot load going from Columbia, SC to Rochester, NY must deliver tomorrow by 0900 or plant will shut down 820 miles 1 pallet 1,000 lbs exclusive use truck protect from freeze etc. etc. I said "no that lane doesn't really work for me but thanks for calling" he counters saying they have huge money in load.
$1400.00
Really thought long and hard about jumping on that one. -
