You mean like the time i was dumb enough to take a load against my better judgment from PA to OH for $550 300 miles wasnt too bad of a rate and could have actually made a small amount on that load accept i was hit at the PA turn pike for $109 and another $45 in tolls after that plus fuel doesnt even give me anything for wear ND TEAR ON MY EQUIPMENT AND NOTHING IN THE FORM OF PROFIT way i see it the rate formula needs to change and it needs to be changed by the drivers that understand these costs not the broker or the shipper needs to be based on miles + weight + tolls + any other fees inured

same thing happened to me numerous times i get a really good load with tql cause they get desperate and actually give me what i asked for. get the confirmation then get a callback saying it was canceled im sure they found someone to do it cheaper once they send a confirmation they should be committed and if canceled we should be able to bill them anyway y not doctors do it regardless of the fact we didnt move the freight i got several calls for good paying loads and turned them down cause i was committed to the other load so now it has caused me to lose work i should get paid for my losses

AMEN, I feel the same way about them. I just reported them to ITS for their Bait and Switch tactics they always use. I get so frustrated when they do that, it wastes my time and theirs when the load is not where they post it as. ITS customer service told me, which I already knew, they get numerous complaints on them and told me that every one needs to report them when they have a problem with them doing their shady stuff. Maybe just maybe if every one would they might do some thing about it.

Can't blame 100% the broker for that one. Simple solution is a) ask for the zip code before commiting and b) request the rate confirmation right away for the load showing addresses. A broker will try to "sell" you the load, but the driver has the final word. Unless the person giving me the load is someone I have a relationship with, I pay extra attention to ALL details of the load and if something is not as it was sold to me, I give it back.

oh i dont blame the broker completly i know my lack of attention to detail was partly to blame however running a business sometimes you have more on your mind and sometimes things get missed however I do blame the brokers for being shady about it after all i might have made a mistake but the brokers fed me miss information on purpose that i cant excuse

I 100% agree, this is what we all need to to. When customer service get's tired of reading the same thing over and over every day maybe they will do some thing about it like boot them off the load boards.

ITS will never do anything to TQL. TQL is one of the largest brokerages in the country they do billions in business The only thing that works to correct TQL behavior is the market. When you see TQL you do not call. Of course toss in some carriers who do very well there with good agents, along with carriers who just need easy backhauls made simple, and a steady stream of suckers. Well, you get the idea what you're up against Only thing in your control really is what you do.

    Another TQL classic

Had a reefer posted in Columbia, SC looking for Birminham, AL needing to get a load picked up there tomorrow. TQL calls said he has a hot load going from Columbia, SC to Rochester, NY must deliver tomorrow by 0900 or plant will shut down 820 miles 1 pallet 1,000 lbs exclusive use truck protect from freeze etc. etc. I said "no that lane doesn't really work for me but thanks for calling" he counters saying they have huge money in load.

    $1400.00

Really thought long and hard about jumping on that one.
