Hey drivers, I'm looking for some help. My hubby, Blaine Lechko truck 6134, works for ACT. He just finished his training about a week and a half ago. He started out with a load on Thursday and ACT was contacted to come and get his truck by the Platte County police. It was abandoned on the side of the road or at the scales. They towed it back to the yard. I have back tracked and found out that he was taken in on an outstanding warrent for over weight at scales from 2004. He paid his bond at Atchison, Kansas yesterday morning and left. I have not heard from him since Thursday. I am assuming he is trying to make his way back to Liberty and his truck to get his belongings. I am very worried and afraid he may be hurt somewhere. If you can spread the word, I need to hear from him. He can call me at 319-730-1898. Please help me find him. I don't know what to do. Let me know if you have seen him or heard of him. I'm assuming he is in the Kansas City area, trying to make it back to Liberty. Keep an eye out for him, please.

    Thanks,
    Liz

Thanks Brian, I am sooo worried about him. I am at home out on disability and worried sick about him. I just hope someone is kind to him and helps him get back to the yard. I called dispatch and they hadn't heard from him.

Hi Liz-I've never dealt with this so i'm not sure how good my thoughts are.Do you have a missing person report in the system?I don't know time frames on those, though maybe since he bonded out,the process might be faster. If he has a cell phone, the provider might be able to locate it.I still hope for the best.Take care.Brian

Heard from State patrol, hubby is ok. Made it to St Joseph Mo and working on getting home. He sent the authorities to do a welfare check on me because he was worried about my medical state. Imagine that, a hubby who loves me so much he sends the Local sheriff to check on me and make sure I am still ok. Thanks Brian for your support!!!

I am much better today. Finally collapsed at about 3 am, just fell on the bed and was out. About 4:30 the dogs started growling and then barking. I looked down the stairs to see flashlights flickiering through the windows. I thought "oh crap, someone is trying to break in" I let the dogs down the stairs in an effort to scare whoever it was. I was just about to call 911, when there was a knock on the door in the kitchen. I went downstairs and it was the local sheriff deputies checking on me. Blaine had made his way back to Kansas City and gotten ahold of the authorities, worried about my health (I have congestive heart failure and it causes problems on a regular basis) they came out to find out if I was ok. It was then that I learned he was fine, and was trying to get a bus ticket to come home today. I know what time the Kansas city bus gets in, so I will be there to welcome him home and I don't think I will ever let him out of my sight again. I think this will be the end of OTR for him. He is always worried about me and my health so I am sure after this he will want to find something local, so he is home every night and around if I need help. I don't know about ACT and whether they will let him come back. I know he really liked the company after coming over from JCT. And I think he would continue if they let him and I could go with him, but I bet they will consider it truck abandonment, although he had no say in the matter. What a screwed up mess. If this goes on his DAC he won't be able to find another driving job. Oh well, I am just happy he is safe and on his way home. He can deal with that tomorrow. Thanks for your care and concern. I really appreciate it. I was in a pretty scary state there for a while.
