And I would have/still would go there if I could be forgiven of 2 Dui's which I received at 20yrs old.(1980) Ah well. Such is life. I have talked with many a Sammon driver when running W and they have all said mostly good things..Quite amazing when I think about it..

I wonder;if I were to buy a Truck from the Bank would I be eligible to lease on in Missoula?

I would understand more, if you stated it was for Ins purposes but, not having a way to train for securement is not what I expected. I trained with TMC in SC and all they have is a mobile office with some PC's inside,,did what we had to there and than outside in the small lot they had. On this lot they had a trailer with a container, a trailer with a large coil and a trailer with some flat steel and wire. We use the container to throw straps over, the coil trailer to learn strapping a tarping a coil and the other trailer for all that. CRST Malone has a similiar set up, does Sammons not have the capability to do the same? Just curious is all.

Is the 75% paid off the gross from the shipper's rate confirmation, or is it after the rate is skimmed by the agent/brokerage sells the load to his Sammons agent side of his brokerage business? I guess I'm just greedy enough to be looking for 75% of the contract rate, otherwise I'm better off with my own authority hauling loads I get off ITS or CHR.

    SheepDog and Cetane+ Thank this.

The 75 % is off the rate confirmation. We bill the customers not our agents so there is no "Skimming". Loads from the Internet Truck Stop and C H Robinson would be at 75% so in those cases the Broker or Robinson has taken "Their cut". We (Sammons and our Agents) have customer direct freight. You are however allowed to take broker freight if you want.

We have trailers, we rent them, 53' steps are $220 a week. Rent covers everything. We can get you plates but we will charge you back for them. There is a $2500 licensing escrow that you will fill at 6%.

That is one thing I don't agree with, charging a high dollar amount to rent a trailer, to a driver that pull's for you. That equals $11,440 a year in just trailer rental. I could go out, if I had the money, and buy a nice used trailer for that much, or less. I understand the fee but why so much? Yeah I know, the fee covers the cost of any/all maintanence on said trailer,,,ok, got that. CRST Malone charges $185 for a flatbed and that equals $9,620 a year, I have found some in great shape for 7k. I have been thinking and researching about doing a lease purchase with CRST Malone and the the trailer rental is the one main thing that is keeping me from doing it, not to mention it is a lease purchase and that is the last thing I WANT to do.
