" It's never good to speak badly of an ex-employer," nor to whine and complain about them and their equipment when your still employed there on internet sites even when you do not identify them but use the X Y or Z method.

Have someone write out the explanation for you. Women are very good with words( they should be they use enough of them) I have had my GF write letters for me many times it works very good

Being that you only worked for them for 2 weeks, it is their option weather to report it to D.A.C. / Hire right services. But labor law states that a company can only and only send to verify employment. They can not put a complete reason for termination on your background. In the section on your d.a.c. it says "eligable for rehire" it's either a yes or a no.

Always be honest and up front. Always keep information to a minimum. If they don't ask, don't answer. Stress your good points and don't feel you have to defend your bad points. Trucking companies have seen it all and know about retaliation. If in the interview they ask about that employer then give a simple short answer as possible.

Trucking is a tough occupation where an employee has to put up with more than normal BS sometimes. An experienced driver knows how to deal with the crap more as time goes on. Evidently you had a situation where things got out of hand. Always keep your cool. There are right ways to quit and wrong ways to quit even though you would like to do other things. Your employment history paints a picture so make it a good one. If DAC is involved, dispute it.

Once a driver learns how to handle bad situations better you will find things go much easier. The more longevity you have at one company the better things get.

Mom and pops are great but as you found can be a nightmare. A large company you can get lost in the system, request new dispatchers, etc. Never act on impulse but plan. As they say in TN, there are more than one way to skin a cat! :)

So it was a mom and pop company huh. You're right you being there only 2 weeks is the problem. Then some companies won't hire anybody that got fired no matter the reason and how long you been there.I also got fired from a mom and pop company because I refused to drive anymore with their bad equipment and refused to break the HOS.But I was with them for 3 yrs.You just have to keep looking. It takes time but you'll find a cmpany that'll give you a chance. What companies have you applied to?When the application ask reason for leaving just put wrongfully terminated and dont give any more info then that unless they ask..Don't go into too much detail why you got fired.Companies don't have time to listen to it all just give the main facts.

Great advice. This was the hardest thing I had to get used to when I was new to the industry which made for some interesting "discussions" with dispatchers. As time goes on any problems that I do have are definitely becoming easier to manage. I can never plan for stupidity, but hey, who can.

Thank you to everybody for your input. I think I've solved this problem as I've decided to swallow my pride and go back to SNI. Just got ahold of the recruiter today and they said that I was still eligible for re-hire, so I must have done something right. At least here I know what I'm in for and how to get things done. :biggrin_25523:

Well after a lot of years on the road, and putting up with all those years of b.s. and having a trucking tell me what to do as well as controlling my paycheck life style, I have come up with a 100% way of rectifying my problem, not only with a little luck, but with a positive attitude and a great resume, I am finally off the otr and regional crap, and I am now getting paid by the hour and I do mean I get paid for my time from start to finish. I am out of trucking and working full time in a permanent job near my house at an hourly rate where now I am home everynight and with weekends and holidays off (paid holidays) It's been an experience..................... adios amigos.

I had left a 2.5yr job off my resume before just told themi was a stay at home dad women use it all the time so I figured I could too.I did it because I had a job in that time span where I was put on workmans comp and even though I was an excellnt employee (thier words) I never came back after I healed up and they started to slander me for no good reasonb so I acted like I never worked there.All. I had to do was sign a affidavit saying I was unemployed and bam-boom I was hired once again..
