I had to jackknife into an indoor dock, only had to pull forward once. 2012-10-18_15-08-53_163.jpg 2012-10-18_15-09-03_160.jpg

Just recently they beefed up security around the poles. But there was a wall actions from 7 and 8 door that they recently had to take cause trucks kept getting hung up on it. It was more like a real high curb. Enough that if you backed over it it would take out your oil pan or fuel tank.

Lots of good posts--The most important thing is PATIENCE--slowdown take ur time--pay attention--ANY job is only as HARD as u make it!
And of course practice--it takes time folks--im lucky I guess(or cursed lol) I've only ever pulled a reefer--and have always done long haul LTL(forgive me there was my 18month brainfart where I ran linehaul for big R)
So it isn't unusual 4 me to hit 20 docks a week(did 7 today in and around NOLA)and u get used to it and it gets easier and easier--I haven't thought about what it takes to get in a hole in so long I have to think just to b able to explain it--My point in all this is:if u wanna get good at it DONT SHY AWAY FROM IT---don't look for pull thru spaces-BACK every chance u get--blindside as much as possible--start easy--stop to eat--park out back where there r 4-5 mt spaces--use the lines--make believe there r trucks parked&Blindside--as much as possible--90 degree the same--so when u encounter these situations--they won't bother u near as much--and it will get easier!
    Just my $.02
