I love how use of force got brought into this. I am seriously laughing at all of the successful lawyers who only drive truck so they can see the sights on here. Being someone who has had to use force levels, both professionaly and as a civilian, I will tell you this. I don't give a #### what truckstop lawyer tells me what I can and can't do. If I feel threatened, I will defend myself. If I feel threatened and in fear for my life, I will use whatever force I deem to eliminate this threat. I have seen loss of life, it isn't pretty, and no matter what truckstop lawyer on some internet thread states, I am not willing to lose mine.
I stay protected with a Glock Gen 3 model 22, when in the great state of Montana. I may or may not have a S&W revolver that travels with me when I go to the more communist (and violent,) states because of their lovely magazine limits etc.
With all the danger out there do you guys keep anything to protect yourselves?

I own 1911's as well, I use Glock in USPSA matches, so I am more proficient with it than I am with my other handguns. I just like it's ease of use, and flawless functionality. One of my shooting buddies has a Wilson Combat CQB 1911, and I definitely have envy.

I recall one driver that run out of Dallas back in the late 70's arrived early at this dock, backed up to the gate, stepped out of his truck to step between his truck & trailer to take a 10/100, & was hit over the head. Gun would have done him no good. He was at a place around LA that he unloaded at many times before & he usually always arrived early taking a nap & the workers would wake him when they arrived to work. That morning they found him laid out with a big knot on his head, & his pocketbook empty.
Yes, somethings a weapons does no good. -
