Your big truck 450 horse and weighs 80,000 pounds.vhughes Thanks this. -
Manual or automatic doesn't matter, but Maverick, like all the big companies, turn the power down on the trucks. I know this freight liner can pull harder and faster, I've been passed by o/o driving the same dang truck and they made me look like I'm standing still lol.
Yea, I do wish they had more power. But it is what it is. The money they save on fuel ends up going into my pocket as higher wages, so I'm not gonna complain too much. -
Still at 6.9....mountains and head winds!

My last fuel stop for the qtr made today: had gone 625 miles. I put exactly 62 gallons of fuel in tanks. 10.08mpg for that trip, and thus my final fueling of the qtr. Tanks are about 3/4 way full, plenty to get me to consignee tomorrow, and then the short deadhead home for requested time off at the end of the qtr. This should be a good final push UPWARDS for the quaterly mpg results. Been running in the 8+ range on trips for the past week and a half, so we shall see....

11 months and 13 shop visits, both Mav shops and Freightliners, and then I go in last night to Gary to a major air leak in my primary line. 14th visit, and whatever they did shot my mileage through the roof. Getting 7.9 now on the Qualcomm staying at 60mph. Dash readout says 7.64, which is probably more accurate lol.
I cannot believe an air leak was killing my mileage.seawheeler and jxu417 Thank this.
